I should have clarified - until he came across Kotal Kahn. His stock is definitely on the rise now.

The artist sadly used the wrong Reptile costume for that MK9 flashback, but I really like this little development in the relationship between Kotal and Reptile.

I think the outfit is a minor thing, since that outfit is the "tournament" alt.

Besides the fact that the comics are not using the original outfits since the very first issues, even on its own story.

What bothers me is that they keep doing Shang Tsung's coutryard as indoors. Holy crap, that's quite simple to notice it's not indoors!

Haha...yea i meant couldn't*... so excited i couldn't type lol

But yeah i thought the same thing. Figured Tasia always wore purple and a halter top. I figure since its GO time, she armored up!
 
Tasia looks baller. I'd love to see her in as a real character. No swordswoman in new timeline MK as yet (though Li Mei could fill the role).

I'm still grateful for this comic, but I wish they would stop treating things in such a childish matter. After all, Mortal Kombat is not the usual comic addressed to children, but to full grown men.

Shao Kahn just walking up to D'vorah asking "Who are you? Their Queen?" was just stupid and it would have been better if she had manipulated someone into introducing her to the Emperor and her actually having a plan. In fact, they should have just made her Vorpax from the MK Conquest series (they do own the rights to that one, don't they?).
Mileena kicking D'vorah was also silly. Ok, we know Mileena is a maniac, no need to show us a dumb scene. Very childish. As for the ending, how did 4 Black Dragon members manage to enter the capital's palace and even throne room? They must have come in a helicopter to avoid the legions of shokans camped right outside the besieged city, but I'm pretty sure shokans have the power and means to take down any incoming Earthrealm helicopters (else Sonya would have called for help from the Special Forces base).

So, to sum up, they should worry more about it making sense. Was still good, though, especially because it focused on the Outworld characters and no more Cage family this time (uhhh)
 
So how far in advance do you think these comics have been written?

We're almost a month into the Game's release, and the scene where Mileena gets overthrown is completely different than what happens in Story Mode.

I don't wanna be another guy screaming inconsistencies, but it's clear Kittelson had too much free reign with this.

And that's why the komic is not canon. In the event of inconsistencies, the Source Material takes priority, and in MK, the game is the Source Material.

At this point yeah I think it's best to look at the comic as an easter egg for fans rather than something with strong bearing on the canon. The only things I'd assume are canonical to the games are character deaths.
 
No, the comics are canon, they are meant to fill the blanks of the MKX story mode so they have to be, are their alot of inconsistencies between the two, yes, but it is still meant to be 100% canon
