Cool chapter. I don't mind the slower pace one bit.
-I do wish that we were getting a little bit more of the newer characters. What the hell was Erron thinking? How was this supposed to help Kotal? Really wouldn't have minded an explanation. And I wouldn't have minded some more dialogue for D'Vorah/Reptile/Ferra, either.
-Kotal remains interesting. He's a Machiavellian "Prince" who knows both how to be cunning and ruthless, and when a softer touch is called for.
-Sonya and Johnny... yikes. Sonya's one tough customer. I have to say, I'm growing fond of her entirely self-reliant and emotionally closed off characterization.
-The Gorbak scene was great. It was nice, too, to see that Kotal actually had a plan with keeping Goro alive... a plan that backfired epically, but still a plan. Johnny Cage vs Goro isn't happening any time soon, but maybe possibly JC vs Kintaro HYPE???
-Hahaha, "technical loss." It's funny because I can't tell if Scorpion is actually sensitive about losing, or if he's right and that's the way we're supposed to interpret his defeat to Kuai.
-Now THIS is interesting. "Even under Quan Chi's control, Kuai Liang wasn't powerful enough to do this." Confirmation that Revenants are stronger than their usual selves? So, unless the fights in MKX are dumb again, Johnny Cage beating Revenant Sub-Zero is actually even more impressive than Johnny Cage beating regular Sub-Zero? And him beating Revenant Jax shits up and down over Jax beating Johnny in MK9? Heh.
