God damn I loved the Gorback scene. It wouldn't have been nearly as impactful if the art was tasked to the jagged jobber that did the Kotal Origins story.

Thank you for deleting the leaked spoiler posts. That's ignorant stuff I would expect in IGN comments, not here.

As far as the comic goes, great set up issue for next week. Can't wait to see the showdown between scorpion and subzero again along the the shokan attacking. I guess we'll see how Goro gets his arms back as well.

that leak seems plausible. It was just the bios for the 24 on the roster.

Loved this issue.

Kotal Kahn's a badass. I really hope this dude becomes a staple in MK from now on. He's definitely earned it.


Loved the Shokan uprising panel. Straight up riding dinosaurs and shit.
Too bad it's probably not going to work out all that well. I can see most of the Shokan dying during the uprising. Leaving Goro and King Gorbak all by there lonesome.

I think Kotal is already a staple, given his popularity. And I didn't read the last few comics, who's Gorbak?

Goro's father, and King of the Shokan. This was established in the original timeline, as he was listed as one of Goro's "Known Relatives" in MK1, and made an appearance in the official MK2 comic, where Shang Tsung was being punished for failure to win the tournament for Shao Kahn.

Guys, those bios are still freakin' fake. There's still several things wrong with them. They aren't "100% confirmed" when they don't have their facts 100% straight.

It says Liu Kang's body is still damaged and scarred even as a revenant even though we now know that's completely untrue, it says Takeda saw his mother's death even though dialogue from Kenshi and Takeda himself shows that's wrong, it gets the reasons for the Shokan rebellion wrong, it mentions minor events in the comics like those are actually going to be relevant to the game, etc.

Also they're from the same guy who gave that huge list of other "leaks" with the stages, costumes, and story stuff. And all of that has been disproven by multiple things now.

Havik is being set up to play a big part in the story only to be killed off and not make an appearance in the game, smh
 
Can we just stop acknowledging the fake bios and the people who bring them up and move on?

I really liked this issue, kinda bummed that there wasn't much that happened, but it's a setup chapter so it's fine.

Also, Kotal sent his ENTIRE race to search for Goro then??? Wow, maybe you should have kept some with you man.

I assume Goro and Reiko launched their own attacks on Kotal's people's settlements. Although I'm not really sure how his mom could have been killed when she was apparently living in Z'Unkahrah.

I'm not sure it would matter if she was killed or not, though TECHNICALLY he wouldn't be the last survivor of his race, but I'm pretty damn sure he won't be reproducing with his mom, that'd just be gross. So I guess he faces extinction anyway whether she's alive or not

Hes body still has scars. Look at his arms. Not sure bout the kenshi thing gotta look it up. And some of those events will be relevant to the game.
