Well, this is good news for fans of story continuity (and I should hope we're all fans of that).
I cannot freaking WAIT, I hope this gets revealed next issue when Scorpion and Takeda encounter Sub-Zero.

I feel like either Erron Black or Kano should have finished him off.
So far Hsu Hao, Fox and Mavado have been killed off? I wonder who else will be killed off? It won't surprise me if Sonya, Johnny or maybe even Jax will kill off Jarek. The comic seems to be killing off characters that will never return back in future MK games.
Yeah, I think this is likely.Sadly the most likely character to bit the dust seems to be Reiko due to his role as main villain of the comic book as well as him not being on the MK X roster.
I find it funny how people automatically assume Havik has more chances than Reiko to appear in the game, remember that Reiko is actually the one getting story DEVELOPMENT and has ties with multiple IMPORTANT characters from the game, in edition to that, the story focuses on him more than most of the characters, the only ones that got as much development from the comics are the main characters (Kotal Kahn, Cassie Cage, Takeda, Scorpion, Raiden) and i would argue that some of them got even less than Reiko himself, also his relationship with Kotal Kahn has to be taken to consideration, do you really think they are just going to troll us after building him up like this? what would it give to the story? shock value? it would be stupid, i'm gonna say that these 2 villians are going to give our heroes a taste of what we will see in the sequel to MKX.
You have to remember that the games story is going to show parts of the same era, and that the comics story is canon to the games, also from the information we have so far, like the fact that we know that Kotal Kahn's reign as emperor will end, the fact that he considers Reiko as his main threat and NOT Mileena, and what we saw in the trailer connects us with Reiko's goal of becoming a Blood God, i'm pretty sure we will be seeing more from him, also don't forget that the comic is supposed to commercialize the game, whether the character is going to be an active member of the roster is unknown, but from what we've gathered so far he must have ties to the story itself, so i'm predicting we will see both villians in the story of the game, similar to how we saw Shinnok and Quan Chi's story only they will be involved more than just in the end. What's more likely is that this little subplot will end in the Comics. Remember, this event is 15 years into the future, it won't be dragged out til the 25 year mark of MKX's Story.

I didn't say that those characters don't have a chance of appearing, BUT i do believe that in these arguments i pointed out that a character like Reiko has more chances because of his importance in the comics, though it would be questionable if characters that died will appear, but i can definitely see Frost for example making an APPEARANCE in the game, i mean look at Fujin and Rain for god's sake... they both were in old ass costumes and barely did anything significant, yet they appear to be part of the story, a character like Reiko actually got alot more screen time, in fact as much screen time as the main characters, like i pointed out earlier, i don't see a reason for him to just get offed out of thin air, especially after the way Kotal Kahn spoke of him, and vice versa. And how is that theory holding up for Frost, Hsu Hao, Mavado...?
Jarek only had a short cameo appearance in one comic. I doubt that he will show up again any time soon. Otherwise he would’ve accompanied Kano and Erron during their jungle trip.

Once again, i never said we would get him as a BOSS, i only said that we MIGHT get him as the most important villian, or as a villian of the sequel to MKX possibly the main one along with Havik, but i'm holding to my belief that killing him after the way he was written in the comics will be stupid, and won't give anything to the story, and that his chances of being an important NPC in MKX's story are high. the fact that he wasn't in the trailer doesn't diminish his chances that much anyways, i do believe that we are still up for a couple of surprises in the next few weeks, also ever thought that maybe he wasn't in that specific location when Kotal confronted Mileena? i mean we can clearly see that he is busy with something just as important. So why didn't we see a glimpse of Reiko in the story trailer? Surely NRS could have managed one single shot of him that would be ambiguous enough to have us thinking he's still on Mileena's side, whatever the truth may be.
It's absolutely possible that we'll see Reiko at some point in a flashback, or even in the present. But as the boss? That's a tall, tall, tall order.
