SPOILER ALERT:Mortal Kombat X DIGITAL COMIC DISCUSSION

By the time the digital issue of #16 is out, it will be Sunday April 19th.
By then I would have had MKX for 5 days and would have found out how Sub-Zero becomes un-cyber in the MKX game story.
I'm pretty sure that his Sekret Origin chapter will be more of what happened around the time that Sub-Zero killed Scorpion.
I seriously doubt that they would leave that type of info (him becoming un-cyber) out of the game, just the same way that I doubt that they would leave info about Kitana and Kung Lao becoming alive again out of the game.

I really doubt the game is going to bring it up unless it somehow becomes relevant.

It would be strange as hell for the game NOT to bring up how he came back from being a cyborg, without any explanation.
That would be a huge plot hole that I don't think they would leave open like that.
Regardless of whether people liked CSZ or not, they wouldn't just leave it blank like that.
Many people are reading the MKX comics, but not everyone does, and that's a HUGE plot point for them to just skip out on.

Plus, why would they leave that out of the game, when the "Origins" issue comes out digitally, the following week?
That makes no sense, to me.

That makes no sense, to me.

First reason: there's simply no non-silly explanation for this.

"Lord Raiden... you've brought me back to life!"
"Yes, you will have a second chance. But... Kuai... there's this thing that's been bothering me. When we fought in the Netherrealm during Shao Kahn's invasion, you were a cyborg."
"Yes."
"You were basically a cyborg zombie."
"Yes."
"And now you're not. This is strange to me."
"Quan Chi found my cyborg body to be an inefficient servant. His minions broke into the Lin Kuei temples and found my original body, discarded and useless. They brought this husk back to Quan Chi, and with his powerful magic, he was able to transfer my soul from the cyborg shell into my original body."
"Wow, that's uh... that's a lot of effort to go through."

That's like... one of the less silly versions of how that conversation goes. You don't see how it would completely cheapen the drama of the resurrection (or whatever other sequence they stick this dialogue into) to cover this nonsense?

Second reason: that conversation took 1 minute of storytelling out of 120 total for the game. You don't think they could use that minute more productively... like... developing Kuai's character? Developing Reptile's character? Developing Ferra/Torr's character? Developing some sub plot? You think that filling up a plot hole that MKX newcomers know nothing about and plenty of MK9 fans are happy to forget in its entirety is worth it? When a disposable comic can do the same thing in less than one page of one issue?

Ain't gonna happen.

It would be strange as hell for the game NOT to bring up how he came back from being a cyborg, without any explanation.
That would be a huge plot hole that I don't think they would leave open like that.

This isn't a big plot hole. It's arguable whether it's a plot hole at all. A plot hole is something that doesn't make sense. You already know what their solution will be - Quan Chi using magic - so it either already makes sense and doesn't need to be in the game, or it already doesn't make sense and won't make sense even if they show it in the game.

Funny how Sub-Zero can come back to life with his entire body restored, but Jax still can't get his arms back

Well, from what Kittelsen tweeted, we will see in the comics how Subbie got restored. I can imagine Quan Chi found him better a man of flesh than a machine, but deemed Jax stronger with his metallic arms.

What is the full significance of this? Is "Blood Demon" here synonymous with the "Blood God" we keep hearing about?

No, he's just the one who's been responsible for Sub-Zero, Fox, and Raiden all being possessed ("chaos is coming" and all that) and everything going wrong with the Kamidogu; "blood god" is what Havik claims you'll become if you gather all of the Kamidogu. I don't think the "blood demon" title is meant to be taken too literally, it's just what Raiden called him.

I hope not, as that sounds kind out of character. Havik's about spreading chaos, not doing gods' dirty work.

Might not be so bad. I doubt the Blood God is a super strict ruler. He's probably brings absolute anarchy with him. Something Havik couldn't achieve on his own.

I think Blood God is the name used for the person who master the blood magic.

Kotal Kahn also mentions this, when he makes the pact to become the blood god.

Reiko wants to become the Blood God by mastering blood magic.

Kittelsen confirmed it: Havik's the blood demon.

I'm here for buffed up Havik.

Who? Havik? He's never called himself a blood god.

In the comics, he told Reiko that he would be the Blood GOD. But we have also heard about a Blood DEMON. And something tells me it's the same thing, but calling it a GOD is alot more intriguing than a DEMON, and thus the Blood Demon calls itself a GOD to make it seem more powerful and positive.

In short, it's a demon who calls itself a god.

Does that make sense?

No, that's not what's going on.

The blood demon and blood god are two separate things. "Blood demon" is just what Raiden and maybe some other characters have called the force that's corrupting the Kamidogu, which was never called the blood god and has now been revealed as Havik. Havik has never called himself that, Raiden's the one who coined that term because he considers Havik a demon and he's corrupting the Kamidogu's blood magik.

The blood god is what Havik says Reiko will become if he gathers all of the Kamidogu. We have no idea if this is actually true or not. Havik has never called himself the blood god, he's just saying that's what Reiko will become with the power of the Kamidogu. It's a completely different thing from the "blood demon" term Raiden is using to describe Havik, not whatever god-like state the Kamidogu can bring upon.

I'm still convinced its the same thing, just two different names.
