I do agree that Boon is stupid.
The way he dismisses the MK characters that he doesn't like is childish, IMO, and so are the Rain jokes and the fact he's left out of most games - I'll tell you what: Ermac wasn't much better than that too. He was basically a joke, if you think about it, but they gave him a few chances to develop and nowadays he's a fan favorite. The same could and can easily apply to Rain, but no, it's better to make jokes about the character because that's soooo funny, isn't it? It was his decision to make Rain an actual playable character with unique moves and a story, as far as I know. The way he's treated is ridiculous. And the same goes for the various MK4 - MKA characters: why put Hsu Hao in a game if you dislike him so much? Couldn't you put more time in creating a better character, then? Any kid could do a better job at creating unique and interesting faces than they did with the Nitaras and Kobras and Kiras. Plus it's not like
every MK4-MKA character is awful, it's clear by now that there are quite a few fan favorites like Reiko, Fujin, Tanya, Havik, etc, so why don't give 'em a chance to develop? MKX is both exciting (new faces) and disappointing as hell (Sonya, Cage, Jax, Kitana, etc). Boon has guts to keep dismissing his creation like a spoiled child, but no guts to do something interesting with the characters that are "forgotten" to time besides making jokes about them and killing them in comics. MKX could be a nice mix of new characters and MK4-MKA, you know. I do think that even my idea of Erron Black being a retconned Jarek is better than bringing Jax from the dead.
But I guess that being childish gives you rep with the internet kids... It's so great to make your own work look like crap, isn't it? Kids think you're "cool" and all.
