SPOILER ALERT:Mortal Kombat X DIGITAL COMIC DISCUSSION

The only characters that can die in the comic are those that don't show up in the game plot (even the Netherrealm War that happens before).
For example Hsu Hao is someone that can die in the comic because in the game plot he won't even show up, he had no part to play, so people who don't see his death in the comics won't miss out on any relevant information.

Reiko will only die if he's really just someone who served Mileena for a bit in a minor part of the civil war. Otherwise, if he's relevant in the rest of the civil war of even before in the Netherrealm war, he won't die.

Reiko is a maybe, but something tells me Shawn isn't going to kill too many original characters since he wants to keep the comics going. Probably why Frost wasn't killed. He might want to use her for future storylines.

You don't think it one bit possible? Seeing as in the comic he says to kill Mileena and Reiko and take the throne, and now, in game, he HAS the throne?
Something must have happened. If she 'escaped' then that'll make sense too, but I just have a random hunch.

He already has the throne in the comic, too. Kotal's been called "Emperor" while Mileena's gone underground and been called the "would-be Empress."

Also in-game doesn't mean much when the game takes place at various points over 25 years. There's going to be times when Kotal isn't emperor at all.

He has the throne right now. Mileena is in exile.

Maybe I'm too traditional, but I just don't see a huge character getting killed off in the spin-off comic that most MKX players won't read. People playing the story will go WTF when they simply hear of Mileena's death off-hand and in passing instead of watching it/experiencing it for themselves.

And this is the explanation why Reiko said my plan and then corrected himself to our plan.... What a brilliant mind... Mileena keeps falling down, what a shame... She looked really smart in the original timeline...
 
I'm freaking loving these developments myself. I like the character Mileena and I hope she's in the game, but it's a great development that Kotal sees Reiko as the biggest threat.
Kotal vs Reiko fighting for Shao Kahn's empty throne is just a massively interesting rivalry and I think the whole thing will work better than Kotal vs Mileena.

The only thing I'm afraid is that they are showing too much Reiko, and that could mean he dies and is not in the game. I want MKX Reiko badly more than ever.
 
Wow. Loving the repect Kotal has for Reiko. It would be 10 kinds of bad ass if Reiko was playable in MkX and Shao Kahns hammer was one of his weapons or variations

Reiko should be in! For Shinnok's story and Outworld Civil War!

Grab that hammer and claim yourself Reiko Kahn! (and then get crushed by Kotal after an epic battle, because, well, I like Reiko a lot, but Kotal is what Ouworld needs and deserves [NO NOLAN TRILOGY JOKES please]).
