SPOILER ALERT:Mortal Kombat X DIGITAL COMIC DISCUSSION

.......or perhaps how he becomes a new Quan Chi NetherRealm creation, along with Jade and the other dead. :proud:

Commander, Kitana is clearly going to assassinate Quan-Chi and bring back all of the MK9 roster for MK11 (except Stryker, Rain, Skarlet and Sheeva because lolnope) who are going to assemble their random cousins/siblings/have children and they'll also be in MK11, where Boon is going to announce it'll have the most new characters since MKX.

I thik the soul is shapeless.

True but they should have used Kuai's human model in the Netherrealm cutscene since that's his true form. I'm sure it'll probably just be retconned or something but I like it when they put effort into their lore.

The writer in me screams at the idea of them ignoring things that they've established in the ps2 era intead of building something new around it, so here's hoping that ps2 era characters at least SHOW UP in story mode. And that the ps2 plot points get addressed and out of the way for MK11.

I do think they are building something new around what's established in the PS2 era.

It's very clear that's not a total reboot. It was the same thing, until Raiden's changes. And things keep happening.

Of course we have minor retcons (like the Kamidogus being daggers or Quan Chi being the one who ressurrected Sindel).

About Sub-Zero, I think Quan Chi took their bodies (deceased) and souls, but after defeated, their soul are free to their true form and are probably "reborn".

Something like that!

Ew.
I hope not.
Do you really want characters like Nightwolf, Sindel and Stryker back?
(Mind you, Nightwolf was 1 of my mains in MK9, but I hope that he stays dead for a game or 2.)

I really like Sindel and Nightwolf but I'm conflicted. Gameplay purposes, I want to see them back, because they're unique fighters, but for the storyline, they're not really needed. I don't care about Stryker, but it is frustrating when NRS ignores characters.

Kintana, Kung Lao, Jax and Liu Kang (if he comes back) are enough, IMO.
I hope that the rest stay dead for a game or 2 more.
Ignoring characters? Nah.
It would be nice to see some of the dead stay dead for more than a minute, to see some of the new cast shine.

I was always neutral towards Nightwolf, though it's an interesting character.

I want him to stay dead for the matter of consequences of what happened (not permanent, we know it won't be at all).

But what happened on MK9 was amazing. He was a true hero, it's solid to say that he was one of the greatest heroes of what happened.

His MK3 events participation was something I could never expect. Not only defeated Noob, Quan Chi and saved Earthrealm's souls and sacrificed himself to slay Sindel.

That chapter changed my mind a lot about him.

Oh, I don't mean in MKX. I mean for future games.

Even still, as vetalfox mentioned in another thread, I'd rather see this after MKX, regarding new characters replacing the old ones:

vetalfox said:
I'll say it's time to move on from the past

Johnny Cage, Sonya and Jax - since we already have their children, no point to keep the parents alive
Kano - it's time to die for him and Black Dragon to have a new leader
Reptile, Ermac - i will be completely ok if they both die and Scorpion/Sub-Zero become the only remaining ninjas in the series
Raiden - by Fujin

I added this 1 to the list as well:

Kenshi - replaced by Takeda

It's time to move on from the same tired Trilogy roster.

We already know that Jade is unplayable... And it wasn't via a leak, media reported it.

Honestly, Boon's trolling and teasing can go a bit too far sometimes. Don't get me wrong, it's really clever and funny, but when people really want to know info, it can get annoying, especially when compared to Himmerick's activity on Twitter, who actually takes the time to clarify and answer questions.

I agree with you on Kenshi. Once he became a Deadbeat Dad, I turned against him. I hate Deadbeat Dads.

I'm curious to see what happened to Kenshi. Was a rather dick move to show up 'I'm daddy' then dump him at Scorpion's place, when the kid clearly didn't trust him. lol Shinnok in Annihilation was a better dad then our blind swordsman.

I'll give them MKX as the transition to the next generation. But I hope we leave the parents in the past for MKX1 and onward. Even though BiHan/Kuai Liang are my favorite characters of the franchise, I wouldn't be against the idea of Frost taking on the role of the next SubZero going forward... or the next Noob-Saibot.

Would be better if they had Kitana feud with Tanya this time around. Gotta bring that mournful variation full circle! #forjade

I agree with vetalfox on all of them.

- Cassie can replace Sonya and Johnny if they both die or get their last hurrah in MKX, and are retired after that.
No sweat.

- Kano can also be replaced by someone else. It doesn't necessarily have to be an MK4 Jarek clone, but somebody else from the Black Dragon.

- Raiden can also be replaced by Fujin in MK11, if he either gets killed or elevated to Elder god status in MKX.

I know that you don't particularly like the sound of it, but MKX is the "passing of the torch" game, as said various times by Ed Boon and others from NRS.
Much like the Olympics opening celebration, it makes 100% sense for the old participants to pass the torch to the new participants, and for the new participants to take the mantle from there on out.
The flame emphasizes the connection between the ancient games and the modern ones, much like MKX emphasizes between old and new characters.
MK11 should be all about the new characters carrying the MK franchise on from that point, into the future.

Do we need some body from the Black Dragon though? They don't really contribute anything to the overall plot. If Kano dies for good, I think the Black Dragon should too.
