SPOILER ALERT:Mortal Kombat X DIGITAL COMIC DISCUSSION

Man... back in the day, when I played MK4 for the PS1 (jesus the 90's!!!), Reiko was my ultimate favourite character on that game. His outfit was as generic as it could get, but his moves and his arcade ending were AWESOME!

Then, in Armageddon they brought him back. I actually love MKA Reiko. If he's to appear in X, I want Armageddon to be the basis of his design: Reiko is the general and "somewhat" admires the Emperor, nothing more suiting than him actually trying to look like Shao Khan. Armageddon design and special moves just felt RIGHT for Reiko to me. It was one of the very few things I actually enjoyed from that game.

I surely hope he's in X. Hail Emperor Reiko!!! :P

Maybe I'm too traditional, but I just don't see a huge character getting killed off in the spin-off comic that most MKX players won't read. People playing the story will go WTF when they simply hear of Mileena's death off-hand and in passing instead of watching it/experiencing it for themselves.

Who's to say stuff we've seen in the comics won't be seen in the game too?

Yeah that would not make sense. I think what we are seeing in the comic is mostly set up and side-story for the main story arch of MKX, which is crazy when you consider the fact that the comic story seems like it's pretty important!

Well, Kittelsen doesn't want this just to be supplementary detail for MKX; he wants it to be its own big story, too, even while setting up MKX's. (which is why I'm really not expecting stuff like the Kamidogu to be in the game)
 
I think the comics will leave us on the apex of MKX, so, some things will be concluded here, others, on the game.

The blood magik storyline is being distracted.

Sub-Zero's appearance wasn't mentioned after his appearance, Scorpion, Takeda an Raiden too.

Even the purpose of Cassie being wanted by Raiden is on second plane to what seems to be one of the plots of the game.

I wonder if this blood "demon" will have something with the game or it is the one who will leave us on the climax to the game.

Very complex. When Kotal uses the Kamidogu, we shall see connections.
 
It is a very complex plot indeed.

First, we know by now the Netherrealm War WILL be in X for sure. Probably at the end of te war, won by Raiden & Earthrealm with the help of Kotal, characters like Kung Lao, Kitana and Kuai Liang will come to life.

The kamidogu is a major plot mystery at this point. As we know, kamidogu = Onaga. I don't really think it's a coincidence Outworld is in civil war right now, but as they said before: THERE'S ONLY ONE TRUE RULER OF OUTWORLD.

Kuai already got his scar in the comics, whereas in the original timeline he was hurt by the Lin Kuei. Also the cursed dagger that hurt him and Scorpion has weren't explained yet.

Another plot point that interests me is the Red Dragon and Daegon. I actually don't believe Daegon will be killed any time soon, NRS likes him a lot, I just feel it's really strange that both Kuai and Kenshi want to kill him, and we know Mileena made a deal with Deagon to help her against Kotal...

This is as complex as it can get for a fighting game and I love it.
It seems to me that these first comic issues were only to introduce and develop central characters in X: Scorpion and Takeda, Cassie and Jacqui, Kotal Kahn and so on...
 
If I had to guess, the whole kamidogu, blood magik, blood code, demon from another realm and Red Dragon stuff will be comic-only.

Oh, and I just realized 'Blood Ties' has multiple meanings.

I think the Kamidogu stuff will be mostly wrapped up as well. I don't think they will even want to bring that back in the game, as NRS seems to be avoiding most MKDA-MKA stuff. But the Mileena and Reiko gig I could very well see making its way into the game.
 
Just saw the Preview for #7 and lets just say,
Kotal Kahn to me by far is the MOST interesting character in the comic thus far, I care more about him than anyone else at this moment.

Nice to see Kotal Kahn & K'Etz back on the same page and to see D'Vorah and Erron Black with a possible Reptile in the far back.

Kotal Kahn really takes this fight serious...he's very passionate

I like how its mentioned that Mileena isn't the threat, Its Reiko

Shao Kahns Hammer...AWESOME!!!

1) Let Reiko live
2) Let Mileena live
3) Kill off Kotal's father so Reiko can have the hammer, Erron Black isn't the fallen ally and that father of Kotal isn't in the game! (Bingo on 3 spots)
4) Let Reiko live!

I kinda love Reiko + MIleena, too bad it's only deception lol! But still, rather see Tanya + Reiko, maybe Tanya is Reiko's real girlfriend and they betray (not kill) Mileena together.

I'm curious where Rain fit in to all of this? And we gonna see him REAL soon, maybe even in this comic!

I love this comic so freaking much! Can't wait for each part! I think the comic will be even better than the storymode in the game, which will probably be again around Kotal who turned bad on the end of the comic and who fights against Sonya & CO..
 
Rain has always been related to Kitana, not Tanya. If Rain is to appear, I bet he'll have ties to either Kitana or the Edenian demiGod brothers...

I actually love the Reiko and Mileena relantionship. You know they are probably having sex at this point :P but it seems Reiko is using her...
 
[MENTION=18752]Sonya Bland[/MENTION] I agree with your post. Having Kotal K'Etz get the shaft would be the smart choice. It makes sense to me. Its been said that Kotal's fallen Ally is someone really close to him.

Also you mentioned 3 spots and i completely agree with that. Reiko, Erron & Mileena.
What i am curious about is Reikos true intentions. He seduced Mileena to become her "Closest" Advisor. Would he "Marry" the Mad Empress for position of power (Reiko Kahn...Ironic) or would he get close to betray and overthrow her himself?
 
I don't think he would need to overthrow her. Marrying the Empress already would turn him Emperor by consequence. Mileena is the legit Empress going by the last Emperor's wishes, so it's her natural right. Reiko would simply use that for his advantage. Clearly, the civil war has a lot of Reiko's hands on it. Mileena seems to be doing what he wants. So far, this is what I can take from the plot...
 
This comic is amazing and my favorite MK-related story since the whole Deadly Alliance/Deception arc. Kotal Kahn is really turning out to be a three dimensional, deep character, probably the most depth we've seen out of an MK character in a long time. Nice!

Reiko's new prevalence in the story gives me some hope that he'll be in MKX proper, but I can see him being dealt with in the comics. Hopefully not though! He has some major potential!
 
It seems every MK character could appear down the line.
And getting back to the whole blood/demon thing for a moment:
