That's Ferra, man.
I know, lol, that's why "figuring out" is in past tense. It just took me a while!

Well with the old hint of Kotal being betrayed, the fact Erron Black was caught on Cassie's phone when she was abducted, and now him not being in Kotal's stand (as far as we can see) against the Shokan...
It would be interesting if Erron Black was the traitor, and not Reptile.
It's just speculation, don't jump me Erron Black fans. But it would be pretty cool, Kotal already has enough allies, it would be cool if the Red Dragon and Reiko plan was related to Erron Black. It would make the character more interesting, instead of a silent henchmen.

It would make much more sense for the game to put him on Black Dragon. Kano is still the only one representing it.
Besides the fact that someone has to support Black's weapons.
They look rusty, but I'm sure you won't find one of those on Outworld.
Funny how the new guys are sticking together and Reptile.
I really don't think every not-good guy who uses guns or other modern weaponry has to be part of either Dragon group. I also don't think he would fit in the Black Dragon at all, he's like MK's The Man With No Name.
Well, except for the part where we know that The Man With No Name is a good guy.
(And the part where he has a name.)
Kano needs people, right? Otherwise he's just going to be a chump again, and his character design tells me they don't intend for him to be a chump again. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over Erron not being on his team. I don't even really care about him being in the game, now that we know the original costume is just a possibility (and the new one blows).

I meant in archetype, not literally The Man With No Name just copy and pasted. Going by Salazar's bio, and just how Erron has been portrayed, he doesn't exactly strike me as the Black Dragon type.
Also not really sure Kano's going to need people in the game; he's still probably going to be an underling himself to someone else.
Also pretty certain Erron's "new" costume is still his old one, and that the artist for Chapter 6 just messed up.
Could be ammo left over from Kahn's invasion. He did stock the weapons in his armory.
So why does the IGN article start with 'this issue builds from the big Sub-Zero/Scorpion showdown in issue #5?' Wasn't the last issue just about Kotal's origin and Mileena's alliance with Goro? Scorpion and SZ didn't feature at all... *confused*
Or maybe this is just the usual IGN derp and they're talking about the cover art for issues 1-3.
It's not a guarantee that Erron and Salazar are the same person, though. Why did the casting sheet confirm Takeda's name but not his? I'm not saying their descriptions don't align, but saying that Erron shouldn't be on Black Dragon based on a description of Salazar seems premature.
And everyone finished storymode thinking "what a chump that Kano was" and logged on to multiplayer and... what, joined the Black Dragon faction? Sorry, I just can't see NRS playing it that way.

I was wondering the same thing, I didnt understand any of the text accompanying the image.
Well, according to the last comic with Kotal Kahn ruling / trying to help that EarthRealm native tribe, maybe Reptile also figured that "This is the 1 person who can help me finally restore my lost race." :-D
I mean, that's the only viable reason that I see for Reptile joining Kotal Kahn.
It seems like Kotal isn't hostile to Shao Kahn at all. His own people were defined by Kotal as warriors and conquerors, so he won't feel like a victim or a poor little good guy since they did the same thing themselves while they could.
When their kingdom fell, all we saw from Kotal was that he felt embarassed that his father surrendered. But he never said anything against Shao Kahn and by the look of things he respected him as a mighty conqueror figure. Most importantly, once they surrendered Shao Kahn accepted it and lept them keep their crown and autonomy and even their magic stone thing, so there was no extermination or anything.
During all the time he was by himself and in his returns to Outworld, he was always going about his amazon tribe and his father, he showed no intent of revenge to Shao Kahn. Furthermore, in his speech in Outworld he clearly says usurper Mileena drove Outworld to the brink of disaster, which shows he respects the might of Outworld under Shao Kahn and Milleena was ruining that legacy. There's also the matter of him taking the Kahn name as a sign of being a successor and a continuity.
