Hanzo begins his battle with Scorpion, who calls Hanzo predictable and lacking in variation as he begins beating on him. As some demons rise up to hold Hanzo down, Scorpion claims that he will never be anything other than a depressed loner with a death wish without hellfire. Hanzo says how he doesn't want to turn the memories of his family into weapons, but Scorpion argues it was done to avenge their deaths. When Hanzo says they were avenged long ago, Scorpion replies that the entire world must burn for his family and clan. Hanzo asks Scorpion if he'll burn Takeda too, but Scorpion shouts that Takeda is already dead as he then thrusts a sword into Hanzo's chest!
On Shang Tsung's island, Havik burns Takeda with Shinnok's amulet, telling him to choose whether to become an agent of chaos or die. When Havik leans in to hear Takeda's answer, Takeda takes the opportunity to headbutt the cleric and shout that he chooses to fight. Havik then slams Takeda's head onto the floor, voicing his admiration for the young Shirai Ryu's sticking to his principles, and as he prepares to unleash the amulet's power once again, a bullet suddenly flies through his hand, knocking the amulet away! D'Vorah, Sheeva, and Kintaro have arrived... and thanks to Kotal Kahn's portal stone, they have reinforcements in the form of Erron Black (who obviously fired the bullet), Reptile, and Ferra/Torr! As Havik and his slaves prepare for battle, D'Vorah asks Erron if he's ready for his redemption and instructs him to keep Raiden occupied. As Erron opens fire on the thunder god, voicing his belief that this is more of a suicide squad than a rescue mission, the others begin their own fights; Reptile spits acid at Mileena, Sheeva takes on Johnny and Sonya, Kintaro faces Cassie and Jacqui, and D'Vorah and Ferra/Torr go up against Kotal Kahn as Ferra claims that the real Kotal would never hurt Torr. Havik sees Takeda fleeing with the amulet and gives chase, with Takeda soon falling due to his earlier injuries. Havik begins talking about how he knows everything Raiden told Takeda, like how the amulet contains the power of an Elder God, and as Takeda tries to use that power on Havik, the cleric is unimpressed; Raiden never taught Takeda how to use it after all, and Havik easily wrests it away with the promise that he will show Takeda how to wield it...
Back in Hanzo's own personal hell, Scorpion repeatedly stabs him, talking about how what they do changes the world. Hanzo admits that his darker half is right, that he's worn guilt like a noose around his neck long enough, and then teleports out of the demons' grip! From behind Scorpion, a fireball suddenly flies through his torso as Hanzo stands revealed in his own Scorpion costume. While Scorpion drops to his knees, Hanzo picks up the blade he wielded earlier and uses it to slice Scorpion's face off, proclaiming that there is no guilt or vengeance: only justice!
Back on the island, Havik engulfs Takeda in a blast of energy from the amulet, revealing that the only thing prolonging his death is the Jinsei energy that he was charged with earlier. Havik remarks on how this mimics Earthrealm's own long, slow death, and how Shinnok's defeat didn't bring peace, but only an opportunity for chaos... before Havik can finish, however, Hanzo Hasashi suddenly rips his head off from behind! As the cleric's severed head voices his surprise, Hanzo replies that Havik can't count on anyone except for him, before teleporting away with the head. As Takeda witnesses his master come and go, he calls for him to come back before slipping into unconsciousness.
