SPOILER ALERT:Mortal Kombat X DIGITAL COMIC DISCUSSION

Here's the summary for Chapter 33. Will Havik's schemes finally reach their end?

Spoiler:
After the preview, Cassie and Jacqui restrain Kintaro while Sonya rips his head right off. Sheeva looks on in shock, while at the same time, Raiden mercilessly electrocutes Erron and Kotal Kahn holds his sword up to D'Vorah's throat. As D'Vorah pleads with Kotal not to do it and Sonya holds up Kintaro's head in triumph, a wave of change suddenly washes over all of those inflicted with the blood code, bringing them back to their senses! Sonya, Raiden, and Kotal all look on in horror at what they've been doing, with the recovered Takeda telling Raiden this is the result of his keeping secrets. Sonya tries to apologize to Sheeva for killing Kintaro, but the Shokan queen simply replies that he died a warrior's death. Takeda then tosses Shinnok's amulet to Raiden, telling him to keep no more secrets and just keep the amulet safe.

Johnny tries to comfort the distressed Jacqui with the knowledge that she's going home, but Jacqui believes that her father is never going to let her leave the house again. At the same time, Sonya chastises Cassie for leaving the base without telling anyone. When Cassie calls Sonya "Colonel Blade", Sonya snaps that she's not her commanding officer... but her mother. As the two embrace and say that they love one another, Mileena approaches the still bound Ermac. Cutting him free, Mileena believes that they can beat Kotal back to Z'Unkahrah and take the throne. Ermac, however, replies that he cannot come with her; while he doesn't believe her to be crazy, he does recognize how impetuous she is, and decides that Outworld needs the leadership of Kotal Kahn--much to Mileena's anger.

As Cassie explains to Sonya all that happened to her, Raiden and Kotal interrupt in order to discuss private matters with Colonel Blade. Kotal voices how happy he is to see the Cage family reunited, but Sonya expresses her unhappiness at seeing the wounded Erron in the rescue party; Kotal decides that Raiden's electrocuting him was sufficient punishment for Erron's misdeeds and that, if he survives the journey back to Outworld, he will be given a second chance. Raiden then brings up how Reiko and Havik had Earthrealm aid in their endeavors in the form of Daegon and the Red Dragon, and suggests that Earthrealm and Outworld form an accord to discuss interrealm conflicts before attacking each other. Kotal says that he will only agree to it if Sonya does, saying that it wouldn't be an alliance, but a non-aggression pact that would leave collaboration at their mutual discretion. Kotal also offers to return the weapons of mass destruction he took from Kano, and so Sonya ultimately agrees to the accord. Raiden then brings up one last matter to discuss: the amulet of Shinnok. Raiden does not want to hold onto it for long, fearing that he may be corrupted again, and also does not want to hide it with secrets and lies again after all that has already been lost. Raiden wishes instead to hand it over to Kotal or Sonya for protection; Kotal refuses, explaining that he cannot guarantee its protection during Outworld's state of civil war, and thus Sonya promises that Special Forces can...

Meanwhile, Hanzo Hasashi arrives at the Netherrealm gates with Havik's still quite alive head in tow, and finds Drahmin and Moloch lurking about. Hanzo tosses the pair Havik's head, and they become excited at all of the different ways they can torture a Chaosrealmer. Hanzo tells them to make sure whatever torture they do is slow, and as he goes to leave, Drahmin stops him; he and Moloch haven't forgotten how Hanzo betrayed Quan Chi and now serves Earthrealm. Hanzo rebuts that he serves himself and didn't come looking for a fight, but if Drahmin and Moloch insist...

Ermac's part is a rape to canon. That "wait and things will be explained" is not even close to what it turned out to be in the end.

Total lack of communication, as expected.

Every comic gives me a more "void" sensation.

Also, sometimes they try to expand the character so much that it goes beyond the the character himself/herself.

I think we have enough data to get to these conclusions.

What else doesn't match up in the civil war storyline aside from Ermac? (and I think that's largely because of the game's script being changed around)

Oh, I guess there's the "5 years ago" thing, but eh... that's very shady territory that NRS didn't do so well with, either.

The 5 years ago thing, yeah. Which I think the game does just fine. The Netherrealm can be an ongoing threat even after Shinnok is sealed away; that doesn't bug me at all. In the game Kotal feels like a new ruler, not like someone who's been established for over a decade.

So yeah the timeline is off which you can handwave if you want but the Ermac thing is just directly contradictory.

Yeah, but Quan Chi having gone underground for a long time and everyone making a big deal out of it when he resurfaces? That contradicts the Netherrealm still somehow being an ongoing threat. I also disagree on Kotal feeling like a new ruler; it could easily go either way.

Given that they said before the game was released that we'd see scenes ranging from 5 years, to 10 years, to 15 years, to 20 years, after MK9, yet everything after the Netherrealm War was shoved into "5 years ago", I really feel like that time period for Kotal's takeover was a mistake.

It's so disappointing that Reiko and Havik weren't in Story mode flash back chapters. At the very least one could have been on the roster, and the other DLC.

Harpoon already posted the summary in the previous page.

I'm sad that Chapter 33 is not available on Google Play Store.

Anyways, even though I'm not surprised, but now we know how the Reiko Accords was established after the whole Blood God incident.

God, Raiden is annoying, lol. I wonder who caused more trouble in the series as a whole: Raiden or Quan Chi?

Sub-Zero vs Sektor was actually something I hoped would be covered in one of the flashbacks in story mode. And it actually would have been a much more interesting way to spend Sub-Zero's chapter.

But instead, Sektor. Who's popular, survived MK9 and had a canon arcade ending, will be killed offscreen in a just barely canon comic. Wow.

Kinda hard not to.

I hope Scorpion doesn't kill them. They beat his ass in the old timeline. They would have killed him too if the Elder Gods didn't save him

Ok so we knew Kintaro was going to die, BUT come on being held down by Cassie and Jacqui? I know Blood Magik makes you strong but that was a weak way to kill him off. O well!

Ermac leaving Mileena now...doesn't fit in with MKX game story mode.

Sonya and Cassie seem to have an understanding or have a moment...what happened to that in MKX Story mode?

Man soo many loop holes!

Still it was a good issue!!!!
