I love it, will def pick this up....if it is good.

I remember reading along time ago about a rpg South Park game being in development from THQ. Reead that Trey and Matt are behind it with support.

At its press conference today, Microsoft showed footage from THQ’s upcoming South Park game. While the title has been circulating for a while, the press conference once again confirmed that the game is called South Park: The Stick of Truth.

A trailer showed multiple famous South Park buildings being destroyed, referred to “vampires and hippies” and introduced a new kid who moves to South Park.

Several South Park characters were shown including Jesus, Butters and "you." Gamers will get to create their own custom character, and part of The Stick of Truth revolves around you trying to become the 5th member of the crew. The game looked exactly like an episode of the show, and creators Trey Parker & Matt Stone said they've been working in close collaboration with Obsidian for nearly two years on the project.

The duo also revealed that they have never had to think about the town's geography when making the show, so Stick of Truth has forced them to actually lay out their version of South Park for the first time.

THQ also revealed special content packs through a press release, which will give you special weapons and costumes when you pre-order. Also, the first three pieces of downloadable content will be available on Xbox 360 first, and will serve as standalone quests that have unique stories and take you to new areas within South Park's world. Kinect support will allow you to taunt enemies and initiate attacks with voice commands. If you call Cartman a "fat ass," he will let you know he's not happy about it.

The game will be released on March 5, 2013.

You'll be able to customize your "new kid" character any way you see fit.

"Your coming was foretold by Coldwell Banker," mutters a wizard's cap-wearing Eric Cartman as he welcomes you, the new kid, into the neighborhood game of fantasy battle.

This deadpanned line, delivered pitch-perfect in Cartman's exact voice, combined with the spot-on look of the poor 2D flash animation tells you one thing: the South Park RPG means business. This is neither a lame licensed cash-in nor a poor imitator. No sir. South Park co-creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have conquered television, movies, and even Broadway, and now they're adding another notch to their bedpost: video games. We saw a live play-through of the new Obsidian-developed Stick of Truth, and if you didn't see a controller in the living room, you'd literally think it was an episode of the long-running satirical cartoon.

Parker and Stone are writing and voicing the entire game, and their trademark wit was on display immediately as our demo began. After your family's moving van drives away, your parents look at each other googly-eyed; Dad tells you, "Mom and Dad need to go upstairs and 'wrestle'" before poking his naked body out of the upstairs window a few moments later and shouting, "Go make some friends!"

And so begins your adventure in South Park, in which, lead designer Matt MacLean tells us, "you have to make friends with the major characters of South Park." Wandering down the street, the first few kids playing near a tree are hardly welcoming. "Go away kid! You can't play with us." Butters, however, is much more accepting, and he brings you to the Wizard's -- a.k.a. Eric Cartman's -- house, where he makes his realtor joke. He takes you to the backyard where a whole fantasy kingdom has been set up, including the "armory" run by Clyde, the "stables" (i.e. the sandbox, where Cartman's cat is treating it like a litter box), a "Rock of Insanity," a "King's Tower" lookout point where you can see the whole town (mapped out in full for the first time ever), and the "Pool of Vision" (a kiddie pool).

"Dude, how killer is this base, right?" Cartman asks. It's here you're accepted into the guild, choosing a typical fantasy role of fighter, mage, cleric, or thief. MacLean selects the fighter and you're asked by Cartman for your name. Punching in "Ace," Cartman responds. "You entered, 'Douchebag.' Is that correct?" Naturally, you have no choice but to accept the insult, and Cartman dishes out your first mission: you must go to City Wok and fetch the wizard some kung-pao chicken.

Before you can embark on your quest, however, rival kids attack and we see The Stick of Truth's old-school, turn-based combat in action. It combines QTEs and timed button presses in order to block and counter-attack, and battle rewards include items like health-restoring Cheesy Poofs and Revive Tacos. In the scrum, however, the Stick of Truth itself is captured by your enemies, and a pissed-off Cartman sends you to retrieve it.

As the demo skipped ahead, we saw a later battle encounter inside the cemetary's tombs, which are overrun by "douchey vampire kids." Weapons here include "F***ing Ninja Stars," the very M-rated "Vibroblade" (no doubt stolen from Cartman's mom's dresser), and a "Mongorian Bow." A boss fight ensues, with the vampire leader in the back row protected by five other foes. Cartman, ahem, unleashes a special attack: pulling down his pants and lighting a monster fart on fire, torching two of the opposing force.

The vampire keeps resurrecting his pals, though, so only one ultimate attack can finally stop them for good: MacLean summons "Wrecked 'Em," in which Mr. Slave swoops in, jumps on the vampire leader's head, and...uh...does to him what he has previously done to gerbils on the show. If that doesn't make sense, try this. Talk about a, um, climax.

With Parker and Stone in control and a construction paper-perfect recreation of the show's look and feel, South Park: The Stick of Truth looks set to set a new high bar for licensed games. Sweet...

Okay, if Matt and Trey have been that involved with the game, I'm all over this shit. South Park deserves a brilliant video game adaptation, god damn it.

I am so stoke to see that Trey and Matt are so heavily involved with the project and that it is not just a cash in. Not only are they writing it, they are voicing the whole thing. It is amazing to think we will finally be able to see the town of South Park mapped out. I wonder if it will be 2D side scrolling?

I am kind of envisioning playing like Tales from Vesperia , but have turn based combat. I would not have a problem with this.

Think of all the fan service they can do with this game, well over a decade of lore to pull from. GOTY 2013!

I read the whole 6-8 page spread that Game Informer had last year on this and I've been salivating gameplay and news ever since.

Is this gonna be an Xbox exclusive? Cause that's the only console they've been talking about so far.
