The Sly Cooper series for the Playstation is getting a movie treatment, much like the Ratchet and Clank series. Personally, I can't wait for it to come out. My childhood basically revolved around those 3 games, and Thieves in Time on the PS3. The descriptions I have read are leading me to believe the movie will retell the first game's story.

I think it should have better animation or could have just gone animated like some of the cutscenes in the games. Other than that it seems okay.

Now if only Jak and Daxter got a game/movie...

During Sly 2, Bentley learned how to drive stick when he had to rescue Sly and Murray from The Contessa.

If they decide to do a Jak movie, I will probably cry manly tears of joy. As long as they use Jak's real voice actor, not the guy from Allstars.
 
Funk all of this... Where in thee hell is the God of war movie? Sony you're losing massive amounts of money (really they are) and the ace you pull out is Sly and Heavenly sword? Da faq... Fans want Uncharted and God of war. I like this and may go see it but can't help but see this as being a stupid move.

I honestly hope the sales from this isn't the determining factor on other sony Game Ip's being made into movies.
 
Well you forgot the ratchet and clank movie. I wouldn't want a live action God of war we all know how live action movies of video games turn out

Sony's involvement is limited to licensing and consultation. They are not producing the film themselves.

Live action isn't inherently bad, it's just that the films were handled by the wrong people and/or the games themselves made for poor source material to begin with.

I like these movies because they are trying to spark interest in the younger fans that haven't heard of the games that basically sold the PS2. Personally, there is not much that can be done with a god of war movie, considering 80% will be him killing fools and 20% sex. The uncharted games are movie experiences on their own.

Sony is better off not making a God of War movie, especially since the overwhelming majority of such films turn out to be utter shit, with very few exceptions. Such a stigma is the biggest factor involved.

Not true. there is aton of story behind his behavior and why he did what he did and why he went on to do what he did. True it would have a lot of blood and guts and 20% sex? Not really. Every mini game was optional and did have to happen. it's not him just mindlessly killing one person after another.

If they did God of War like Beowulf and did the games in chronological order(hopefully we'd get a sequel game by that time) then it would be good.

Jak on the other hand might have issues since Jak never talks for the first game(but we have Wall-E so it could work).
