A thread for those to share the most hard-hitting, emotional moments in the video games that they've played.

Also out of consideration for your fellow gamers, if the moment is a huge spoiler for a newer game spoiler tags would be greatly appreciated.

It wasn't the fact that he died that was depressing. It was the fact that he was finally reunited with his family, living a happy life and then he was betrayed.

Luckily, his son Jack Marston got his revenge



Kingdom Hearts: I remember my brother showing me this scene of Kingdom Hearts 382/2 days or something like that. The music sets the perfect tone for the extreme sadness of this scene. Truly a heart-breaker. I remember legit crying as a kid.



Resident Evil 2: While this wasn't the canon version of Ada's "death" scene, I found it to be WAY more dramatic and emotional than the real "death" scene where she is taken out by Mr. X while defending Leon. That scene was meant to be more romantic. Again, like Kingdom Hearts the music makes the moment much more emotional.

After finally getting things straightened out and marrying the woman of his dreams Roman Bellic was ready to start again. And guess what? He dies during an assassination attempt on you. So his death is COMPLETELY your fault. Thanks Rockstar. Thanks for making me feel like a piece of shit.
 
l.a. noire's ending pissed me off, after red dead i told my tv while while l.a. noire was first loading up, i said, you better not ****ing end like read dead or i'm going to be pissed. i was so pissed.
 
I loved Gray Fox since I first saw a scan of him in a Playstation magazine when I was like 7 or 8 years old. He looked so awesome. I then bought MGS1 with my birthday money and I always looked forward to fighting him. When he came out when you fight Rex and he started talking about killing Naomi's parents I started to shed some tears. Then he was killed by Liquid. I cried so damn hard, no joke. I still to this day love Gray Fox. He's my favorite character in all of the MGS series.

Infamous 2 good and evil Karma ending

Infamous 2 is a great game but god are the endings sad the video above is the evil ending but the reason why i chose this is because of the final part when you have to kill your best friend and partner in crime Zeke the short conversation that goes on is heart wrenching that despite being at odds they're still friends to the end to the point where Cole sympathizes with Zeke trying to save humanity and his willingness in trying to stop you made it harder for me to press the R1 button. in the good ending Cole activates the ray sphere saving the world but at the cost of killing all conduits(including people who didn't even know they had powers) and Cole himself though he is revered as a hero it still hurts deep down because when you look back at his life he lost his girlfriend because of his future self who wanted to sacrifice his own happiness for the well being of mankind and was accused of the so called terrorist attack in empire city and not even being able to take a bath due to his powers you knew he had a crappy life


Metal Gear Solid 4 the whole damn game.....

Anyway a sad moment for me would be In Yakuza 2 (or 1, can't remember) Where Kiryu's foster father dies in his arms.Or in Yakuza 4 where Saejima found his old boss... Hmmm what else? DMC3 The last bit with Dante & Vergil.

Aisha's death... The way those flowers fell... so emotional. Carlos' death, it was one of the only humane things the Boss had done... put his suffering friend out of his pain, Julius' death, even though he betrayed the Boss, I couldn't help but feel sad

sonic adventure gamma's ending on ending i forgot

out of all sonic characters gamma has to be one of my favorites yet he is one of the most tragic robots of all time he was created by eggman and proved to be the best out of the E102 series overtime however he ends up being haunted by the treatment of his "brothers" and has a strange sympathy for a bird that amy has with her and eventually decides to "Free" his brothers up until he reaches the final boss of the story in the video above
 
At least the 2nd ending with Big Boss made up for the first:

Beside's Ada's death in RE2. I would have to say Kitana's death in MK was one of the saddest moments in the series with Liu Kang crying.
 
Saddest Moment ~ Skyrim's Dark Brotherhood


The Dark Brotherhood had arguably the funnest missions in all of the game.
But during

The plot to kill the emperor you are making your triumphant escape after poisoning the emperor. You make your way past all his guards who know it was you, you are hauling ass across a bridge high up in the starry night sky when all of a sudden the Emperor's general stops you on the bridge, surrounds you with men and informs you that you killed the Emperor's public double. You find out your plans have been compromised by a fellow brother. The Emperor's general tells you that as you speak the sanctuary is being destroyed. You kill his guards and return to the sanctuary to find soldiers setting fire to it. You find the mean old wizard brother, who recently told you how proud he was of you, tied to a tree with arrows riddling his body. You smash through the door to find the place engulfed in flames. You rush through to find the hard ass brother, transform into a werewolf in an attempt to fend off a group of soldiers, he does this in vain as he collapses to the ground in death. You find the mage sister dead, sprawled across a table. The place is going to explode and you take refuge in the coffin of the Night Mother. When you get out the place is absolutely ruined. Then you find the leader, body burnt and laying on the floor. Barely alive she informs you that she is the one who ratted you out. Made a deal with the guard, your death for the sanctuary's safety, but she was double crossed. She informs you that she has placed a contract out on herself in an attempt to vaguely make things right. She asks you to kill her and you do. Only people who are left are you, the Arabian brother, and the 10 year old vampire girl. And you must rebuild, and get revenge.


Its a shame this mission isn't mandatory, so many players are probably missing out on it :cry:
 
When Jack of Blades kills your mother in Fable. That sucked.

When Sagacious Zhu sacrifices himself for your survival in Jade Empire.

When you see King Cailan from Dragon Age: Origin's DLC hanging from the wooden darkspawn pyre. That just made me angry.

When that Niskaru b*tch from Kingdoms of Amalur kills Ost Ordura.
 
Jack & Garrus' romance scenes.


When Garrus starts talking about C-Sec and how he just wants things to go right once in his life.

And ****ing Jack, mother****ing Jack. I literally felt my heart sink when her mascara ran down her face when she hugs Shepard.
Beautiful game, can't wait to get the 3rd one.
 
The most saddest moments for me was in:

The tragic reunion of Dom and Maria Santiago, leading to her death.


Megaman Zero 2

Elpizo killing off the body of the original Megaman X.


Real Bout Fatal Fury

Jack of Blades kills your mother in front of you to bring forth the Blade of Aeons.


Gears of War 3

Dom's final moment at his wife's parents' grave before and sacrificing his life to save Marcus, Anya, Sam, Jace and Dizzy from the horde of Locusts and Lambent.

Vile is infinitely better than Zero & X combined, so when he works so goddam hard to finally prove his worth, he is killed by the two gaylords.
