That's just the Vita version. lol
Except that one of those rows is DLC, so that doesn't mean much of anything. This is what the actual final select screen in MK9 looks like.

That's with DLC spots..
What they mean is this isnt everyone filled in. They aren't talking about the size of the select screen. They are just saying it isnt finished and this what you will not see. Meaning when you get the game on april 14th, eight of the slots wont be just blanked out. All the slots will be filled.
Yeah definitely! Or in all honesty they could be saving some popular characters for the next game to keep things fresh. All in all I really like the roster already but I'm never opposed to more characters and choices
And yeah man JRE is where it's at - favorite podcast hands down!
Edit: how do you give thanks to posts? I can't figure it out lol
Also here's that Boon tweet

Rain on the basis that we've only seen a 1 second glimpse of him in story mode and he apparently doesn't have a very prominent role in the comics.
I disagree, being able to cause a storm that blocks out Kotal's sunlight is a pretty important plot tool, while he doesn't seem to be given any sort of ambition or motivation. He has a very important tool set against Kotal.
raiden/Rain are probably the 2 strongest people to hinder kotal khan.
I agree, however as far as we know, Raiden is not capable of casting storms, he has the power of lightning but not the power to create clouds, Rain does because clouds are just vaporized water. And as Yellow Ledbetter once said, I'm sure Rain's lightning powers are an extention of his water powers, where lightning is a secondary product of the friction between water molecules.
This is just speculation though mixed with the biochemist in me that tries to explain it in a scientific way
Rain is not important because NRS doesn't even try to integrate him to the story by giving him an important role.
when he approached scorpion in the comic... "the thunder clouds" got closer to Scorpion.
I think Raiden has the ability to cause a thunderstorm.
you're trying to apply reason and science, to a magical realm with sorcery lol
