Oh I thought you meant a third row of characters that aren't DLC lol.
Well I guess the DLC would get a third row, but I guarantee the row won't be full.

i think there will be around 39 characters in total so the third row will be full
29 characters revealed so far inc dlc
2 more to be revealed before release

fujin: full complete story
reiko: complete full challenge tower

then a kombat pack 2 makes 38
now thats 3 full rows including the question mark which may start out as a radom select but knowing MK it will eventually lead to be a hidden fighter like the question mark in MK3 turned into smoke

One thing that many people forget with MK games is Ed Boon actually puts in a lot of secrets and unlockable characters from the beginning of MK1

Don't think this is happening. boon said in that angry joe I terview the final roster "is about 25". So either we're seeing the final roster or at best there's 1-2 unannounced unlocable characters

Just to be clear... this theory is based on the attention they've given him in story mode so far (costume, animations, dialogue, moves) and not confirmation from anyone at NRS. I think he will be unlockable, along with (probably) an evil character.

I dont. Boon talked up DLC like crazy before MK9. He talked about the possibility of new stages, fatalities, characters, etc. We got four characters and they moved on. The same thing will happen here. They will push out their skin packs and DLC characters throughout this year and then they will move on to whatever game they are working on next.

well, we know one thing, and one of the things that we knows is, beating story mode will unlock someone... they've revealed every single person on the roster screen so far, except jax and kenshi, who are obviously in the game very early on. it could be anyone, and it certainly isn't the big bad.
could be fujin, or reiko. hard to say. its basically the ONLY thing that hasn't been leaked.

Honestly I think what [MENTION=4978]rocky[/MENTION] said was right. The unlockables for those are still characters. Remember Boon said it's "about" 25, that doesn't mean it's exactly 25.
He answered within 2 seconds, do you think he knows exactly how many there are, he's right in the middle of things with DLC so...don't read too much into it.

There is no challenge tower. They are living towers now and they have no limit or end. They update on special occasions, every hour, and weekly. So no unlockable for that. Beating story is probably the only unlockable which is hopefully fujin but i doubt it
