RIP Youtube : it may be the end [due to government]

Sounds like there is some serious lobbying on the part of the big entertainment companies behind this. How can they possibly control atmospheric noises that just happen to be playing in the background. You paid for the music, now they want to control how you listen to it? Headphones only? GTF out!
 
My prediction for if this passes:

1.Youtube will continue to fight, in vain.

2.New "tube" site will rise from outside of the states, far from our we tod did laws.

3.???

4.Profit!

To answer your question I think there's a high probability if this bill passes it will be severely enforced.

If it's passed I think it'll be easier control/monitor being that everything posted is filtered through one site instead of a battery of sites. Napster and other music engines were all but shut down(now you have to pay for right to listen).
Think of it this way: If I buy a dvd it's my right as a consumer to show it to friends, copy it (for storage ofcourse), burn it, or use it as a coaster. There's not a whole lot the authorities can do about it. Now with youtube it's one site/media engine so it's whole lot easier to police it.

on the same token for cell phones; how many drivers are on the road at any given time, how many of those drivers have cell phones, how many of those drivers with cell phones text/call while driving; now how many officers do you have available to monitor every single vehicle? Now if you put X amount of cell phone users on a public bus with one officer on each bus it's much easier to cite the offender.

I don't know if anything I just said makes sense, I'm a little buzzed.

You speak the truth. RWJ is so annoying, not to mention my best friend thinks he's the funniest thing since insert comedic event/comedian here. But Smosh is ok.
 
It will not be enforced as well as you think. It will be just like the IP law in general which is ****ed up. Companies owning the IP will have to make the move to go after people. There is also a ton of IP that is abandoned as well. If the bill passes it will be a waste and also kill off easy and free promotion of their IP.

Capcom has already said this bill would hurt the promotion of their games via Live Streaming and Youtube. Also 3rd Strike Online has a Youtube upload option ingame. Capcom in general like Emulation/GGPO just doesn't care to waste time and money on it.
 
Hey just to let you guys know there is a petition that you can sign against the bill just look it up on youtube and click on one of the videos and there should be a link in the description so you can sign it
 
I made some good AMVs years ago and two were taken down because of copyright garbage....I still have one up, though, heh heh heh.

On the notion that this will be passed, it's very possible. CA has a new law stating it's illegal to use cell phones while driving. that law is not enforcable but it remains.

Did you seriously just compare a law that removes peoples rights and will hurt the economy in many countries with a law that is totally necessary and is there to protect lives? I can't believe you are allowed to use phones while driving anywhere, unless you are using automatic hands-free, it's the dumbest thing you could do.

RWJ isn't as half as bad as SHAYTARDS, Fred, Shane Dawson, etc. His early videos before he got popular actually aren't bad, IMO. His new "Yourfavorite martian" channel sucks ass, though.

Yea, RWJ isnt all that bad, though he doesnt shine much in the humour department, they are things he says that are genuinely funny. The main reason I see his vids is mainly because of the viral vids he reviews. How else would I have come to know about the pedo smile guy on ur profile pic lol.

Exactly! He's not "OMG HE'S HILARIOUS!!!" DashieXP-type of funny, but he still has his moments of epicness. I actually find his videos better than half of the retarded CoD/Halo/Gears videos that machinima pass as "funny", anyways.

i have strong love/hate feelings toward youtube lol

i do like looking up videos for stuff but when in college i had a friend who LIVED on youtube and watched countless annoying videos everyday and followed like 4 of those annoying youtube bloggers lol and felt the need to share every video he watched with me ugh lol
