Glad i'm not the only one who pretty much audibly groaned when i saw gamespy was doin the online for this, been playing smackdown for years and gamespy never fail to disappoint with that one. After a long wait ufc just about works...sometimes. Seriously gamespy is ri****ulous at their jobs!

Online is the worst for me, I have not been able to play a single match online, not even a SINGLE match. The furthest I've gotten was the VS screen then it goes Session is no longer available

Online wins not being recorded?
I was just playing online for the first time(due to the PSN outage). I went to the "join room" section and joined a room called new players. I did probably 10 to 15 fights and won about half of them, even got the "tough guy" trophy. When I looked at my username in the room players list my win/loss was showing 0 wins 3 losses. Do the stats just need time to update or am I missing something.

Some things I've noticed about Online Play
1. Everyone picks Smoke or Ermac, mostly Smoke
2. The lag is unbearable
3. I can't do any combos in the lag and so it just becomes a block/spam fest
4. Somebody stopped my Kano X-Ray with a low jab.. wtf?
5. Is smoke's sweep really fast for a sweep or something? We both tried sweeping at the same time and he beat me to it every time.
Smoke is the uber online lag character so far.

It just takes a while for you to adjust. I was having extreme lag last night and I was eventually able to start winning some matches. Mind you I still can't do most of my combos, but I'm getting closer to being able to complete them.
I decided to main Ermac way before the game came out, so that is the character I use (not because a bunch of other people use him). I usually go with the less popular characters, but I've just always loved Ermac. I can do both Ermac and Scorpion pretty good, but I'm thinking of doing Nightwolf next (I always liked playing him as well).

I have no respect for the smoke teleport spammers at all. I liked ermac in offline mode so I used him as a replacement for subzero(I love sub but I can do nothing with him this game) I have fought some decent players online but why people choose to spam the teleport attacks is beyond me especially when they are so easily blocked and punished for it.

I just got owned by a guy who was 2/10.. and I can get to shao kahn on the hardest difficulty setting. I guess I suck at this game. Don't know how people play so well in the lag.. and when its not laggy people just know what to do a whole lot better than me.
Some guy was using noob and just let me spam him with daggers as kano and then he kicked my ass. My X-Ray with Kano was blocked again. I've never had my X-ray with kano blocked until going online and now its happened twice within a few matches..

You just need practice that's all I wouldn't be ashamed to lose in this crappy lag plus there are some really cheap players online. If you have psn find me on later and we can practice. Something to consider is that beating a human and beating the computer are two very different experiences

I started with Smoke as my main, however I just don't naked teleport/bomb ppl unless I trap them. My game has changed I'm just not finding Smoke that great on close up game and some of his match ups are just horrible. So I'm jumping back in with Ermac who was my UMK3 main. I'm not having any issues against Smoke with Ermac at all really.
