Official TRMK Tier Rankings: YOU Vote!

Don't give up reptile. It has been done in many games in the past where people say one character cannot do something. But then someone rises up and shows them sup.

I can tell you what subzeros do to make me sweat if you want. in PM. but I will tell you some random Jade strengths so you know what to expect.

Jade may not be able to mix you up UP close. But she is extremely dangerous to attack. All of her EXspecials have armor frames on them and all of them can be combo'd off of (except her command staff grab). Most of her unsafe strings can be made safe by cancelling into command grab which pushes the opponent far enough away they can't punish you.

Her Up+3 has ridiculous priority and beats alot of wake up options. Only really fast specials can punish it at full distance. Her Down back 2, staff overhead can be blocked on reaction from low block to high block. BUT the real strength in that move is it's beginning jump animation, and the range it has on it. Not to mention Jades staff is disjointed meaning it's not considered a part of her hurtbox.

Jade's enhanced kick can go through ICEBALL AND ICE CLONE AT THE SAME TIME. and if you're in the corner Jade can combo off her enhanced kick(or normal) into a 1,2 1,2 1,2,2 combo for like 24%. You can do a move instantly out of enhanced shadow glow. enhanced shadow glow along with Enhanced Down back 2(overhead). When you get good at calling out when your opponent will go offensive will give you a free 30%ish combo. Or they have to breaker.

Back to why the jumping animation in jade's Down back 2 (Staff overhead) is so good. It can jump over as high enough to get over projectiles. I use this move when I smell a spear or a freeze or shang shung's or even noob saibot's shadow charge coming. and Jade will hop over it and hit them even with the normal version. not to mention this move beats out sweeps because you jump over the sweep with DB2. (Sup mileena you sweeping princess).

Jade's Down3 spam is good and JUST when your opponent is finally safe to let go of block or attack you becaue you're out of range. An up3 will usually hit them out of any attempt they make once they believe they are safe from Down3 spam.

shadow kick is fast and safe on block, only punish-able by ducking w/o blocking. which if you're expecting it. gives me time to pressure with DB2/UP3 ect.

Most of her game is spacing you out and calling you out when you go on the offensive so she can counter you with her Enhanced specials and dig that 30% damage combo.

also I don't think there is a single character who can actually ZONE jade w/o being outzoned. even though her boomerangs are slow you can always negate 1 projectile with glow and throw your own projectile. even if they block your hit. You build meter from glow and the projectile. and a Jade with meter is dangerous so you're forced to approach.

WOW excellent post. You make me want to try Jade

Yeah, I've been calling Jade as a fantastic character for a little while now. Critical does nothing to cool my jets haha. I've been working on her a bit and I'm making slow progress but she's got so damn much going for her. It's worth looking into her for sure.

haha thanks @Greywolf +Magnum, It's bed time for me magnum I'll send you that PM tomorrow if I got time. It'll be long so I hope you're ready for a good read.

Nah, Jade is close behind Skarlet. But Mileena and Sonya are the least good female characters (not counting Sheeva).

Kenshi is better than Skarlet. I know because I tried to main both and I decided to drop Skarlet and keep Kenshi in my list, so I know pretty well the tools of both characters.

Skarlet is more of a technical character with lots of cancels and strict timing. What made you drop her could've been the difficulty in using her and not that Kenshi has better tools.. She can end all of her strings with a low dash and 2 already ends in a low attack. She also can dash into up slash, down slash, dash, or grab. It's almost a 50/50 situation if they low block, high block, or don't block at all. Only thing Kenshi really has going for him is his low string launcher and his distance on his telekinetic attacks for zoning imo.

Rankings for Kitana are CLOSED! Thank you all for your votes!

The official ranking for Johnny Cage is IN! He received an 8.2!

The next character available for voting is Kenshi, blind swordsman and wielder of Sento.

Kenshi, Kenshi, Kenshi... this one I will simply not vote. At this point, I wouldn't vote him high to be honest, even though he has the anti-zoning in this game, he just sucks up close and his specials are not as impressive as I wanted them to be and most of his best combos are completely undoable online. So, I can't really vote for him in my very small knowledge of him at this point, I just wrote what so far I've been noticing in him. Many people say he's A and probably is, but S tier seems a bit too much for me.

Kenshi is a 9.3 to me.

A brief justification:
Has an awesome zoning, he can hit you from anywhere, he has a great rushdown too, his F+22 string has an amzing safe range, he has lots of pop ups, and is very hard to get near him, his xray is a projectile with armor, it can be safely exchanged with another projectile it is also very easy to combo.

For now, I give him 7.5 ..... still recent to know more about ....

Anyway, I already had trouble online fighting some Kenshi players, specially, those who , instead of fight, just go full screen far, in the other side of screen, and just start to zone, or , spam that Tele-Flurry as "no tomorrow" ..... I lost sometimes because was pratically impossible to approach without receiving damage, so, in skilled hands, maybe Kenshi can be easily a 8.5 character .......

Wow, only Kitana and Scarlett are the two viable female characters in the game?

The only people that make asinine comments like this are the ones that know the least about the roster beyond the character they use.

EDIT: Interestingly, i've realised that Nightwolf is my only male character in my "power four", the other three being Jade, Sindel and Sheeva. While I feel i've progressed quite well, using Jade and NW, by no means are Sindel or Sheeva bad characters.

I don't think there are any real bad chracters in the game. Most chracters have something that can get round something else in the game. I'd argue that Sheeva has the best teleport in the game. It can be guided, and even if she misses, she has crazy recovery from it.

I give Kenshi an 8 simply because he already has a great arsenal of moves to project himself. However I've yet to see someone like Chris G or Tom Brady pick him up and use him at full potential

Kenshi gets a 7.75 for me

+ Nice set of "zoning" specials
+ Low string pop up special gets a lot of people
+ Great against non teleporters
- Not many combos to choose from that are really viable in combat
- Reflect has really strict timing on it's use.

Nobody has really delved into him that much yet, so my score would be a little higher as people play with him more.

I find your dlc pick for ratings disturbing... kenshi and skarlet just came out andy ou want them rated before characters that been out for months? i dun get it.

Kenshi seems like a rather strong character with some great zoning and anti-zoning tools. He has some good strings, mix-ups, and his specials are really strong. The problem is that he's so new. I've not had nearly enough time playing with him, against him, and watching high-level players pilot him. I like how he plays but I've not taken him online even but once. I can't give a solid vote based on that.

kenshi ill give a solid 8.

he has decent zoning, tho he loses in projectile trades, tho if played smart he does have reflect.

he has decent rushdown with fairly damaging/easy to pull of bnb's, a 50% unbreakable combo that can nearly push from midscreen to the wall.

he has a low hit popup that obviously can be linked with a JiP...this is always a very powerful combination. he has a safe/fast overhead attack that does 10% damage.

great range on his normal strings with sword

his biggest weakness seems to be dealing with crossups.

You may want to actually do some reading in this thread before you start calling me out with allusions to the validity of my character choices.

If you had taken the time to actually read the previous posts, you'd see that the characters are selected via Random.org.

Thanks >_>

Kenshi.... 7

+ zoning like a badass
+ nice rushdown game
+ great range on sword
+ most chains are relatively safe on block
+ has a reflect
- predictable, only really one low starter and one high starter
- predictable zoning as well... generally just a bunch of tele-flurrys...
- because he doesn't attack himself much, he is susceptible to cross-overs like a *****
- no projectiles and relatively strict reflect timing
