While he's a 9-10 in his strengths (rush/pressure) he's like a 5 or 6 in his weaknesses (zoning/anti zoning/vs keepaway) as such I give him an 8. Just cuz your one of the best in one aspect of the game doesn't makeup for sucking in others.
 
Johnny Cage = 8. I am going to give a lower rating compared to Cyrax, Jade, Cyber Sub-Zero and Kano since I feel these four characters make up for their weaknesses overall in a much better way Cage does. Johnny Cage has A LOT going on for him, some specials are barely punishable, some enhanced specials are insanely powerful. Combo-wise, Johnny Cage is more than good enough despite his lack of mix-ups. What bothers me, really, is that it's really, really easy to fight Cage from distance, I cannot image a Sub-Zero, Sindel or Kenshi match-up for Johnny Cage. His x-ray, while powerful, is easily avoiable if you're prepared for it and it's extremely punished by projectiles and unblockables. So, I'll give him a 8, even though he will most certainly be in the 9's at the end.
 
I give Johnny a 8.5. Very devastating close range kombos and specials. Those who play with him very aggressively will often win matches cuz his specials like the Flip Kick, Nut Punch and Shadow Kick are relatively safe if blocked and his combos has very fast recovery, giving him plenty of time to block incoming attacks. Definitely has problems against zoners. His rushdown is only truly rivaled by Liu Kang's rushdown style.
 
Why are people passing? You're not voting on if you like them or not or by how people play them. You vote on what they have on the game.

Anyways I'd give Johnny an 8.5.

+ His rushdown is great.
+ His x-ray is strong, and can be random, so hard to counter if not paying attention.
+ Ex-moves are great when trying to close the distance against projectile spam.
+ His wake up flash kick is good.

- Bad zoning, projectiles too slow.
- A little harder to juggle with
- If you don't have meter, it's hard to close the distance between you and a zoner.

You are right, I don't like him. That's why I don't vote.
I don't like JC, so I don't pick him, therefore, I have no experience on how he plays to give a proper score and reasons.
Or maybe you prefer I give him a 5 just because I don't like him and give excuses on why he deserves that 5 according to me.

Read up on his thread then, or just go in training and see what he has to work with.
JUST from online experience you can see the character beyond how he's played.
It's not THAT HARD to see that atleast

perhaps hed rather have a more informed reply then just his impression hes gotten from facing them online?

I won't give a score just by the impression I get when playing online, like aedanwolfe said. Of course I've practiced with him, but don't forget practice mode is useless when you want to test strategies and tactics and I won't judge a character by the combos I can do with them lol

IDK, you can usually tell what they are capable of online.

It's like Kabal. I don't play him nor practice with him but I know what he's capable of by watching people play him. BUT again, not how they play him but how he's played? If that makes sense lol. Pretty much what's useful for him

Ohhh Kitana.

+ Great wake up moves (fan lift and square punch)
+ Zoning that give her juggles
+ Square punch gets out of tight places
+ Amazing Juggles

-X-ray is relatively weak, especially in a juggle
- Not many quick attacks, although some attacks trick people into not blocking.
- Requires good timing for better juggles

Overall, I'd give her a 8.5
 
Kitana = 8. Not much I can say about her. Her long combos using specials are quite devastating, but I still prefer Jade's tools in a fight to be honest, hence why I gave her 1 point below Jade. I know many people will not agree with this. Kitana is a fantastic character in this game, but I feel most Kitana players don't use her right and I question wether or not she's meant to be used as a heavy zoner as many people use her...

I give her 8.9

She is combo heavy no doubt but short range is where her weaknesses start to appear, especially against opponents like Liu Kang who have a factories of highs and lows. Her fan toss is her best weapon and if not spammed, can be timed to catch the opponent off guard and start a 40-ish combo(even better with enhanced). Her recovery time on most Kombos(with a K) is very long and that makes strategy and timing even more crucial for her. Players can find loopholes around it and make custom Kombos (for example I found out about a short kombo that consists of B+1, cutting fan).

+ Ok zoning (enhanced fan toss is the best way to start up her devastating combos)
+ best anti air in the game IMO
+ has rushing potential however does not compete with other rush-ish characters like Johnny Cage

+- close quarters is so-so and can be a gamble if not timed or is not strategic)

- lack of lows (other than F+4, B+4 and fake out kick, she has only 2 Kombos that hits low that have some start-up time)
+- however a note to mention is that her fake out kick is very good if well timed leaving it out plain is not a good idea
or, if you still didn't grasp the idea yet then think about how useful Scorpion's takedown is if timed... so her
fake out kick can be considered somewhat of a pro

- not very newb friendly.. a person fresh out of the water will have a harder time adjusting to her playstyle compared to her male opponents
- anti zoning is not good.. playing against good Sindel or Noob zoners is suicide.


So my final statement is that she is that she is above average but with practice she can become a real pain in the ass!
(and that she pretty too :3 hurr dur )
 
Kitana 8. Easy and powerful juggles, good damage input, good projectile and versatility.

But she is too damn slow, her normal moves took a few frames to recover. She is very unsafe and the rushdown is her weakness.
