Kano. Oh Kano.

+Great anti-air
+Good couple of mix-ups.
+Amazingly fast recovery on knives and they throw fast.
+STRONG ass x-ray.

-Even though his X-ray is STRONG, kinda stinks that it's a throw.

Call it excesesive if you want but I've written about 8 pages front and back about all his character matchups, his oki game, and his mindgames. I've been seriously withholding some information about Kano sooooooooo much because I'm saving it for EVO.

Well, we all know about Kano's advantages, but what are his disadvantages?
 
I¿d love ot vote Kano, but he is by far, the character I most hate in the game, not because this game, since ever, I see the concept of Kano the lamest, guy with eye laser that doesnt use it and turns magically into a ball?... I dont like him, so my vote would be really impartial ao I wont vote this time.

This is my opinion, I know some people loves Kano, and I respect that even if I dont understand it.

You sneaky bastard haha.

Kano's a very solid 9. His Knife Throw is one of the fastest projectiles in the game and it recovers very, very quickly. So while Kano isn't a zoning character per say, he can pull off a tight zoning game. His Upball takes away the jump-in, furthering his space control. Air Throws are strong tools in this game and Kano's is no exception. Choke is an untechable knockdown which helps his oki game tremendously. Down Ball can throw people off-guard if they're just expecting you to jump-in to close distance. His X-Ray is unblockable and catches naked crouches as well, it's not an end-all but it can do work when used properly. He has a great low combo starter and an overhead starter which gives him a killer mix-up game. I could keep listing but the gist of it is that his specials and normals are rock solid.

Kano is a dangerous fighter from all ranges, from the ground and the air, and as a zoner or rushing down. He runs into problems with characters like Reptile, Nightwolf, and Sub-Zero but he excels far more often then he comes up short. So many good options lol.
 
Kano - 10

He really is an amazing character. He isn't huge on variety but the areas he covers he is exceptional at. Lighting fast knife throw, upball (though nerfed) is a beast, being able to dash at your opponent with the ball no mater where you currently are is a huge advantage, good mix up, devastating x-ray, air grabs, command grab to finish combos off with. The list goes on. I am only giving 3 characters a 10 and he is one.

Kano is seriously awesome. He is a total ***** to fight against but I always loved to play as him.
 
i would give kano an 8, his roll is a little hard to do. but he's really fast, & as annoying as his upball is online, it is quite useful.
 
I would give him an 8.5

He has a lot of definitely awesomesauce tools. I just don't see many people at all use them effectively...
 
9.5 for Kano. He's got a very high standard zonal play for non teleport chars, he has a deadly rushdown game(especially with that safe launcher b112 and his low launcher f3b2) and (based on your opponents char and with a little prediction) can severly f**k up your opponent as they get off the ground. Seriously, I can see Kano being my consistent main character until the next mk comes out.

Just in reply to some other posts Kano is ALL about variety, I base my stratigies on my opponents not him and I agree BrokenJanders, any other Kano I've played online basically only zones and doesn't even consider his other uses, which imo are even better.

Kano is one of the best characters in this MK. He has tools for almost every situation.
Kano possesses the fastest projectile (along with Reptile's). So even though he's not a zone character, he can keep his enemies away with ease.
He's great when it comes to control space due to his ball variety (lol)
His upball is one of the most effective anti-airs.
Fast attacks, decent mix-ups turn him into a good rush down character

Only negative thing is that he doesn't have real anti-zone tools. A well timed downball should counter zoners, though.

Kano ? Easily 9, I like to play with him, he is a fox clever MOFO online, hehe !

** His projectile : top-notch, quick, very decent weapon
** UpBall : deadly, hard to predict if not abused, and can save your ass in the last moment, in ultra disputed matches
** His grab choke is amazing if mixed with 1,1 ..... scary stuff with some frame advantage ! His F+3,B+2 mixed with choke is pretty good too.
** His F+3,3 is a cunning dirty trick that helps a lot
** His Air Ball is very decent if you catch the perfect execution and timing , also distance, against projectiles spammers
** One of the best MK 2011 characters to put a hell of pressure on corner, hard to get out once you are there, being crushed to death with chip damage .... hehe XD
** Deadly X-Ray if hits !

I don't see Kano as defensive character, but, as a very offensive character, anyway, not the typical "rushdown suicide crazy ass" type like Johnny Cage and Liu Kang can be played sometimes; he's more as a smart character that seek for opening in opponent's game, using his efficient mixup game, fast special moves and overall, good default chain combos.

I don't see major flaws in his game; maybe, the absence of teleport and , the fact that UpBall cannot be abused due the punishable effect post patch fix .... other than that, he, Kano, is a top 10 character in MK 2011, able to put a good fight in any tournament. Against any character.
 
Id say 9 here for Kano. I enjoy playing him as my main and have a lot of fun. And thats whats its all about
 
for kano id say 8, hes a strong char, but his strength lays in the options he has, they are strong but somewhat straight forward, and there are chars that rushdown/zone/mixup better then him, tho he has decently strong in all 3.

Yes you are right, but this is a tier list, we dont vote the fun or the enjoyable of the character, just his skill, gameplay and qualities to classify him in a cathegory.
