But i wasn't complaining about anything. Just saying people complaining about dumb things should be happy with what MKX is.

To you character animations might be meaningless, to me they're one of the more important things in the game. Perspective is great like that.
 
Animations are what makes the characters more believable and relatable and I hope NRS understand that.
If you watch Disney or Studio Ghibli animated movies, part of what makes you relate to the characters is the fluidity of their movements.

I mean, that is one of the main reasons I disliked the PS2 games. Their animations were so stiff and cringe-worthy. They moved like Marionettes.

I sure hope they keep tweaking everything until release and release it in a patch.
 
yeah i miss the 'kombatready' style stances.

ive also noticed a lot of the MKX stances are kinda lame. some dont look like theyre ready to fight at all and are just standing there like theyre waiting for a bus.
kotal just stands there. not even a fight stance
mileena is hunched over. also not a fight stance
kitana looks like shes ready to take a shit
erron needs improved, the gun twitch fingers are cool but overall still a weak pose.
liu kangs stance dont suit him, looks like a jax type boxer stance.
dvorah has a horible stance. also not a fight stance

etc

most of them arnt even in a fight stance thats what bugs me most theyre just standing there.

only one i think looks good is subzeros

and yeah STANCES ARE IMPORTANT in a fighting game.

the stance should be as iconic as the character. i hope they improve stances before release
 
The animations are one of the things that have gotten me so hyped about MKX. If this game had MK9 animations, I wouldn't be so excited. That's how good they make the game look. Go rewatch the Kano variation trailer and drool at those animations, especially the command grabs and parries in the Commando variant.

Agreed 100%. In fact, the commando variation made me want to give kano a try for the first time in forever because it looked so good.
 
So i havent expressed my opinion yet on Liu so i guess I'll do it now. Gameplay wise I love what I saw. Im a rushdown combo dealing kinda guy so from what I can tell I'll be able to pick up Liu Kang like its second nature to me. Do i wish they did a little more with his variations??? yeah. From what I can tell Dragons fire will be more fireball heavy (Like ryu in SF) and Flame fist being more rushdown heavy(I could be wrong tho thats just what I got from the vid). I see myself using all 3 but I think i'll end up favoring Dualist and Flame fist a whole lot more. I also love all the little things they added to make sure he still has that bruce lee feel from his walk animation to both his round won and loss animations when he waves his finger and when he brushes his thumb across his nose, and yes even his stance the stance that a lot of people seem to dislike. This stance is called On-Guard Position its a stance in Jeet Kune Do.

As both a Bruce lee and Liu Kang fan I get excited when I see these little things added :)...... Im digging his old man kang outfit Im a guy who loves both the crazy awesome designs and the simple ones so although it may not be the best in the game I still love it because it fits Liu Kang (I also like how to me it feels kinda inspired by both the shotos in Street fighter and Goku from dbz :) ) I have yet to see the whole evil kang and younger kang costumes so i wont say anything on them until the whole outfits are shown.

Now I think the only thing I find kinda strange about Liu kang is the face paint he has on his dragons fire variation. Im starting to warm up to it a bit but when I first saw it I wasnt a real big fan of it.

huge bruce lee fan too but the Jeet Kune Do stance just looks like a 1600's boxing stance

I'm trying to see what you are saying [MENTION=11825]liukang[/MENTION]93, but I don't see it, the stance is just lazy and not at all like the one in your photo. One arm is too far back and arms are supposed to be tightened, not loose. It boggles my mind they gave him such a cool stance in the select screen (your avatar) and not in the game, that is what it should've been.
