Anyone watch Bakemonogatari?

2nd Season came out Nisemonogatari.

This is a funny anime, with a side of romance, and some seriousness.

Deals with some supernatural stuff all the while maintaining a unique charm that I've never seen in a Anime.

I started watching Corpse Princess recently (Shikabane-hime). It's weird. But in a very good way. The animation style and tone reminds me a bit of the Street Fighter II Alpha prologue short.

I saw the whole season. It was an average anime to me. But that's my personal opinion. It wasn't trash but it didn't stand out either.

I like off-beat anime though. Rarely do I like big, 'blockbuster' anime programs. Soul Eater is one of those exceptions, where when I first saw previews for it, I wanted to hate it since I thought it'd be another Bleach/Naruto type anime with no personality or flavor. Boy, was I wrong, and hence why I'm cosplaying from it.

(On that note, my fabric arrived yesterday and I have to send it back. Grumble Grumble.)

I'm hyped cuz the second seasons out. This anime is random as fuuuuu

On the Soul Eater Note: I also had huge doubts, but my friend forced me, and then it became less of a force and more of me willing. It kind of follows the DBZ/Bleach Theme a little bit though.. but for some reason I like this series(Soul Eater).

I also love the contrast of colors and mix of plain CGI in this anime.

By screenings, I mean in addition to all the panels, game rooms, dealer's room/artist's alley etc at the con, there will be rooms where they will be showing blocks of Anime. They usually have about 4-6 ballrooms showing an anime or OVA in about 2 hour blocks practically 24 hours a day. They show a mix of dub and sub, but the programming guide never states which. :laugh:

well i dont really like anime.. the closest to an anime that i watch is when i play metal gear or devil may cry

You should try it. Its a different direction than our particular american television. Like without all the celebrity bashing

If you don't like it then all fine and good :-D

If you ever wanna check it out, start with fullmetal alchemist or even Soul Eater. Both are very good

Kof is the closest thing to a anime style that i like.
Im glad im not alone, lol :p

But sometimes i want to know what all the fuzz is about, maybe i might watch anime in the future who knows...

What do you guys reccommed?

It's just like any other entertainment media, there a some decent anime as well as a lot of garbage. The subject matter is broad as well, so it's a matter what you look for when watching a television program or film. That being said, I prefer the comics that most of the animation is based on; the latter has usually has better lineart and better pacing.

One series I like is Lupid III though the content and quality is a mixed bag, being an old franchise and handled by many people over the years. My favorite of the animated features is The Castle of Cagliostro. The manga version is a different beast from the anime, especially when comes to the characterization of the titular character.

oh yeah it had its moments, and other times it was painful to watch, I"ll admit, but 10 years later one cant help but to miss it :laugh:
