With shao kahn gone who is the next villain? chronologically shinnok and quan chi will be but how long will that last? even though the armageddon wont happen because of da events in MK9 should the deadly alliance be in MK10?

MK10 i want them to take as long as possible to create this game to fix every little error
Mortal kombat 9 was the retelling of the storyline from mk1 to umk3 Chronologically MK10 Should be the events of MK4 to MKD. The events from MK4 wont stretch out far enough so in MK10 Onaga has to be in it somehow as for blaze.. idk
with hard work Onaga and maybe blaze could be just that or miraculously bring back shao kahn like they do with megatron, Apocalypse, darkseid and other evil villains that keep coming back to keep a series going Oniro or whoever the Grandmaster Is also a likely candidate for the next new villain is needs to make a appearance it would be cool if he teamed up with shinnok or something but he needs a story or something we've neva seen him except MK:MSZ ND Sektor gotta go nd kill him b4 we find out about him why?
 
All I want to say is....I'm sad to see Shao Kahn go, he is the really big bad guy in MK. I heard Boon say it will be Shinnok and Quan Chi...(I don't know about Onaga yet) from now on.

But Shao Kahn will be missed, if only for being infamous.

From where MK 9 story mode left off, it seems like the NEXT MK will go to the MK 4 timeline (because the MK 4 part was shown at the end).


Personally, I'm hoping for MK: Fire and Ice.
Who knows though.
With this new alteration in the timeline, they could go ANY number of ways.
Maybe even bring back Human Sub-Zero. ;-)

Honestly I don't want to see 4 rebooted. We already got 1, 2, and 3 in MK9. Give us new storylines and new characters. I know everybody says "Oh the new characters suck they can't make characters for crap" but if you give them a chance they could grow into something cooler. Like Daegon for example. You can't really tell right now if he sucks or not, he's only been in one game.
 
Sindel single handedly killed most the cast (Nightwolf, Jade, Jax, Striker, etc), Kahn killed Derp Lao and Raiden killed Lui Kang. Im pretty sure at the end, Sonya, Cage and Raiden were the only good guys left.

Can you honestly see all these characters staying dead for a next game?
 
I think they did all this on purpose so they could take the game in a new direction, so I wouldn't expect to see any known story arcs happening in the next game.

Personally, I hope they do. I always thought Shinnok was dumb and the deadly alliance while neat at the time, we don't need to go back there again.

I expect to see a lot of new characters. This is the first MK game ever that didn't introduce a single new character, unless you count Skarlet and Cyber Sub-Zero. I would expect the next game to have at least half new fighters. As long as they are cool like Ashrah and Frost were, I think we'll be ok.

Personally, I'd love to see an elder god in the game, but not in human form...in dragon form. You can already tell Boon would be into it given how he portrayed Reptile in MKDA, I think a dragon would be pretty neat even though it could admittedly be completely awful if they do it wrong.

Don't be surprised to see things that happened in MK9 ignored or glossed over. Give them a break when it happens. Remember, the story is there just to make the fighting game more fun, it's not there to cripple what they can and can't do with it. It's just a fighting game, so try not to take the story so seriously.
 
It's gonna be tournment against Earthrealm and Outworld this time around. Shinnok and Quan Chi aren't that stupid to invade earthrealm. I got the feeling MK4 and MKDA storyline will mixed into one. Maybe this time Quan Chi and Shinnok will be the new deadly alliance. The story could continue into MKD and MKA. Hopefully, I am right. I would love to see this happen.

I feel that they should just stick the the MK4 timeline and story (in an altered way of course focusing on Shinnok and Quan Chi as the main villians. I also feel that the story can be stretched out alot just by focusing on the Mk4 events. I also wouldn't mind action/adventure game, featuring scorpion and sub zero :p.
 
We're not gonna get the same story, Cage had died and then lived again in MK4 but other guys were still missing that weren't dead (Kabal and Nightwolf for example). Now if we get an MK4 full story, we're probably gonna see Kai, Reiko, Jarek, Tanya, and Fujin filling bigger roles than before. Shinnok is just gonna attack the Earthrealm and Outworld so maybe the former generals of Shinnok in MK4 will team up with the Earthrealmers?

Kuai Liang is dead, so Scorpion will probably not find out about the real killer of his family and clan, who knows, maybe Frost will tell him? So Scorpion has no reason to chase Quan Chi into the Netherrealm and stumble onto the room of the mummified army of the dragon king. Quan Chi may try to resurrect the mummified army of the Dragon King but since Scorpion isn't chasing him, he might not find it, and since Shao Kahn took Shang's soul, gave it to Sindel and Nightwolf pwned her butt, we can assume they (Sindel and Shang Tsung) both died, so i'm not so sure that Quan can transfer souls like Shang can, only manipulate them, but in any case we're probably not gonna get MKDA again.

MKD might happen but I don't see Reptile getting back into the dragon chamber to transform into Onaga.
 
i just finished watching MK: DOTR
it was a good show to me and made realize that not only does The lin kuei grandmaster needs to make a apperance but so does king jerrod and argus in the next mk.
even though the events of armageddon didnt happen i saw argus in mk9 and if he exist so those delia,taven daegon, orin caro and possibly blaze. Since things have changed at shao kahns defeat with the death of many the mk10 will be a mash up of MK4 to MKD with a better story some pokes at the bad characters in the other timeline and some new guys jus not sure who.

shinnok is a horrible boss to me Onaga to me is better shinnok is incredibly evil in MK9 as well as Quan chi, Ermac, and sindel
i like the idea of taking the game in a new direction simply because theres not much to woRk with after MK10 if NRS actually mashes MK4 to MKD Together, with a twist of course because liu kang died b4 MK5 , if they do that i would like the following in the next installment:

Shinnok
Quan chi
Moloch [Maybe]
Blaze
Onaga
Lin Kuei Grandmaster
TREMOR
Without shao kahn theres no reiko..

That can insure a good story like its 2011 predecessor

Who is Frost? [they didn't finish explaining her story]
What about Daniel Blade?

Is earthrealm Planet earth? or earthrealm a place within the real world like another dimension [i prefer the 2nd option]

Argus and Delia were dead long before the events of Mortal Kombat, as Daegon had killed them after learning about blaze. So them returning isnt really a good possibility. How if the lady in red who appears in Jade's ending, is in fact Delia, that we be a really interesting twist to the story.

I feel that MK10 could focus on events of MK4 with Shinnok as the main villain. MK 11 could lead to the events till resurrection of Onaga and focus on that. MK 12 could finally be about armageddon and how it will be altered from the original timeline.

like zmoney said, sub just got punched. hes not dead.
smoke could have turned his neck into smoke when we thought it snapped.
i forget if it was jax or stryker, but they got a heel in the eye, but they could have just lost an eye.
kitana could have just went unconcious.
sindel and nightwofl could have just teleported somewhere. they just dissappeared. not like there was chunks of them all over.

i just cant see how or why they would all just play dead.

i cant think of one for jade. i cant see her surviving getting her insides ripped out.

and ive said it before, but just because they survive doesnt mean they have to be in the next game.

None of them survive. In Raiden's chapter, it clearly shows all of them as zombies under the control of Quan Chi, indicating they are dead.
 
after MK4 the story kinda goes downhill which is why i say NRS Should lump together MK4, MK5 and MKD With a twist of course or a slight nodge like in MK9
 
I think the stories of Mk:DA and Mk:D were the best (except for MK9) in the series. They deviated away from ''good guys beats bad guys'' stereotype and brought in new twists and elements in the storyline.
