first of all, Ed Boon was tweeted for the new game and his reply 'key phrase: you read on a website'.
with that said, if we do get a new mk game indeed I hope it's so complete that DLC won't be needed. I say that because the current DLC was quick work, the DLC characters don't even have an entry line while voice actors were hired, not even a single alternate costume and no nekropolis slot. the skins we got are classic, we didn't get a single new costume which was probably the easiest DLC they could possibly do for us. even though DLC sold well like they said, there are no plans for more DLC atm which obviously doesn't mean there will be no DLC at all till the next game but it probably shows that they work on a specific plan and they don't care about pleasing the fans by giving them more material and keeping the game fresh. of course they are a company so they care for profit, but yeah. now, since the DLC is basically marked by profit and not the pleasure of the fans, I hope the next game does come out on 2013 indeed and on ps3 and not ps4. that's because the latter will cost a mini fortune mostly plus I got my ps3 recently so I wanna enjoy it
I hope the new game has the roster we currently have plus the addition for at least five or six maybe seven brand new characters in the spirit of Skarlet and not like Kobra and such. also, since someone asked I believe it's best that they build on what they made but with some changes.. meaning, if the next mk is like SSF4 was compared to SF4 then thanks but no thanks. not that I won't play it, but I don't want an increase in the roster and be done with it. the fighting engine is amazing and the uniqueness of each character now is very vivid. what I'd wanna see is many more stages, more fatalities, more special moves for all characters a "closet" for each character, and not like SF4 to change the color, but at least 10 costumes per character to choose from, meaning a much bigger krypt as well, many more challenge tower missions and maybe a couple new sub-bosses and a new boss if shao kahn remains dead. overall, I'd wanna see what we have but expanded by all means but when it comes to fighters, I don't want the same. they can add new fatalities and challenge tower missions for example and that's enough to make things different on THAT area, but when it comes to fighters I don't want the same moveset, I'd like to see the same plus many more new moves so we feel like the fighters are "new" as well.
