new Ideas for mortal kombat 9.

Personally, I've always preferred traditional stage fatalities. Let the actual matches be all about general fighting strategy and killer juggle combos, then when it's all over, give us a prompt to unleash whatever gruesome carnage we see fit. That's me, though.

I kinda want to see Stage fatalities comeback. And no i am not talking about a Stage fatality that you do when you get the prompt to "Finish Him/Her".
Im talking about the stage fatalities that can be performed while you're in the middle of a fight.

If a Stage Fatality is performed in the 1st round, there is not a round 2.

Deathtraps should only be enabled in the LAST ROUND so the fight can be long enough.
 
I agree but we already have something like that and its called stage fatalities lol

Oh about that. I don't want to have to input a button sequence to do that. I would just want to uppercut the victim to his/her gruesome death. That's it about the stage fatalities.
 
I don't think death traps would work the same on a 2D plane, though. They'd either be way too easy to trigger, turning every match into a focus on placing your opponent near the trap, or way too difficult (if you've ever played Eternal Champions, consider what a pain in the ass those death traps were to trigger). I think they're really engineered for 3D space; you can be knocked into one if you're not paying attention, but otherwise, they're easy enough to avoid through side-stepping.

I would hate to experience the feeling, where you're a hit or two away from a flawless, and you've just raped the person the whole match, and they catch you one time, ONE TIME, with a stage fatality that's activated before match end. It's cool to have that ability, but there's too many flaws in it. It's better to earn the win, that find ways to steal one from you for no good reason.

Mortal Kombat should always be about rewarding the best, not the lucky.
 
I think some characters should have specific ways they look when they take damage. i.e. Shang Tsung could have souls fly away from him after gettin hit by long combos, and look older and older the more he gets his ass kicked. and the cybers could spark a little and twitch when they take heavy damage

that shang tsung looking older as he takes damage idea is great man. but theres only like a few characters that have some sort of thing that that would work with. like what would happen with scorpion? would he start on fire more and more? i dont think that would work cuz he would look like blaze by the end of the fight. and with characters like kano or johnny cage, there wouldnt really be anything for them but being covered in blood. and they already got that covered. but ya good idea. even for the cyborgs sounds good.

But isn't eliminating any possibility of luck for an opponent part of being the best?

I know it wouldn't work for everyone lol. But how about a few characters have death sequences when they lose. If scorpion lost after the second round and no fatality was preformed scorpion could be be lying on the ground, lava opens underneath him and either skeletons or the hand from hell forcibly pull him down. The cyborgs could explode or short circuit.
 
In-match stage fatalities would be fine, but they should be implemented like Killer Instinct 2 where they were only available when the opponent was close to KO (20% health) on the second round. The "Sans Power" option would be cool, too.
 
It would be beyond awesome if they introduced Tag-Team Fatalities to go along with the new Tag-Team mode the game will have in the upcoming game. For instance, only certain team ups could do a tag fatality, examples: Liu Kang & Kung Lao; Kitana & Jade; Sonya Blade & Jax; Mileena & Baraka; Scorpion & Sub Zero, ect.

I thought MK vs DC did a pretty good job with Scorpion on the damage department IMO. The more damage inflicted, the more of the skull underneath his mask was revealed. That was pretty cool. Although, to see Scorp's skull during a the remainder of a fight would be sick too, especially if you could chip away or crack at it with attacks.

As for Johnny Cage and Kano... Johnny Cage, I would just love to kick those $500 sun-glasses off his stupid face. :-P And Kano, thats a tough one. I guess he'll just turn into the Terminator eventually. :laugh: Just my two cents. :)

Yeah but then it's not luck, luck only exist because it means there's always a possibility something will happen in your favour. Sure I understand what you're trying to say, but presenting the possibility to someone who sucks at the game to have that chance of a win, isn't fair to the person who's actually put in the effort to become good at it.

Actually in some of the screen shots you can see the damage done to specific characters. You do actually start to see scorpion's skull and i also noticed Sub-Zero's mask starts to chip away, showing the lower half of his face. If they do all that, then im SURE you can norris Johnny's glasses off.

U just gave me an idea...going off you LAST ROUND idea. "Deathtraps" should only be activated if the match goes to Round 3 (Player1 wins 1rd, player2 wins 1rd, then the third round, before the fight begins u get alil animation revealing the deathtraps)

That would definitely be cool. I wish the creators come up with such a thing.
 
its probably been said a few times but death traps wouldnt work with the 2d style in the game. its not like they can just be in the middle of the stage.

Indeed the only deathtraps that will work are obviously ones you can do when the match ends like The Pit.
