Motaro, Chameleon, Meat???

i thought monster was supposed to be scorpion but it didnt work in the storyline for deception unless he did some sort of time travel. so they changed it to monster?
 
Monster is Scorpion. I don't see how anyone could actually think that they're two completely different characters. It's no coincidence that Monster looked like Scorpion, had the exact same moves and fighting styles as Scorpion, and even claimed to be the true Champion of the Elder Gods, which was consistent with Scorpion's ending saying he was the true champion.

Monster is a minor character in Mortal Kombat: Deception. Shujinko encounters him during Konquest Mode inside the Nexus, where Monster claims to be the true champion of the Elder Gods, and challenges Shujinko to Mortal Kombat. After he is defeated, he is not seen again.

Monster was originally going to be an alternate costume for Scorpion. It was his rumored "Knight" costume. The developers felt that it didn't fit Scorpion, and that idea was scrapped.

Konquest was originally supposed to involve time travel, thus explaining Monster (Scorpion's) appearance before his death, the fact that he is the true champion of the Elder gods, and most likely other appearances/events that happen out of sync with the MK timeline. The developers thought the time travel idea would be too confusing, and that was scrapped. They liked Monster so much, that they left him in. He retained all Scorpion's moves, and the true champion of the elder gods story from being one of his costumes. They never fixed the timeline after scrapping timetravel, thus leaving lots of confusion amongst fans as to wheter or not Monster is to be taken as a new character, or as Scorpion.

i just past the MONSTER part in deception....and Monster "claims" he was the champion of the elder gods..... but that doesnt mean he was!. Plus after that when Shujinko is talking to damashi they make it sound as if he isnt the real champion of the elder gods. i do however think that this makes him his own character.

which means that
Monster, Khameleon, Chameleon, and Meat could all be in Armageddon, hidden or selectable fighters.... who knows. I would perfer to see them in the game in some way.

Well yeah, that's because Damashi/Onaga was tricking Shujinko into making him think he was the champion. Since we know Shujinko isn't the champion, that just makes Monster's claim more probable, especially since no one else in the game claims to be the champion. I think the fact that Scorpion's ending made him out as the champion makes this whole Monster/Scorpion thing far too coincidental.

In my opinion, Scorpion was just referred to as Monster in Konquest so they wouldn't give away Scorpion's ending if you hadn't seen it yet.

I can admit that we don't know for fact who Monster really is, but still, if they meant for him to be a completely different character from Scorpion, they could've very easily given him anyone else's fighting styles or some generic special moves instead of a movelist identical to Scorpion's.
 
Well all I know is I am going to start playing Konquest mode first thing when I get the game to get it out of the way. It will help the story out more before I get into beating the game with all the fighters. This game should be great.
 
I was just wondering.
Motaro is in the game (we all know that) but people is still wondering about his stances right? Well, each character has 2 fighting styles, 1 style and 1 weapon OR 2 weapon styles. Im guessing he has 2 weapon styles. I remember somebody saying that it will be hard for the MK team to give Motaro fighting styles. So I think Motaro might have 2 Weapon Styles.

I'm thinking he's gonna have one hand-to-hand like everybody else actually. If you notice, his weapon is already right in front of us. His TAIL! His one stance could be his usual power-packed kicks and punches, but then they could create a whole new style based on the use of his tail!
 
All I know is that, Meat has been confirmed as a playable kombatant, complete with a bakcround story, Motaro is just going to be in Konquest and as for Cham and Kham, unknown.

Where in the hell are you getting this stuff? I don't know what I missed, but as far as I know Meat has only been mentioned in a very brief and vague manner up to this point. If you're going to make bold claims like these, at least give us the data to back them up.

At E3 2006 more information was released about the game:

Blaze will appear as the main boss of Armageddon
Taven will appear as a playable charater
Finding unlockables in Konquest will play like Shaolin Monks, eg. tread on a certain spider to unlock a character
There are surprise charaters appearing like Meat.
Noob and Smoke seemed to appear as one character in the Demo.
The Krypt will be replaced with The Vault, and there will be only One type of Kurrency.
There are alternate ways to unlock all the features.

HELL YEAH! Seriusly, why would he say meat character if he's not even a character? He's a skin. PLUS, He had just unlocked Reiko, who happens to be a neat character from MK4. Even if it did sound like meat (which it didn't) the mmm and the nnn sound are very consistant, so why wouldn't you go with the more probably 'neat character'? Midway isn't known for giving away super unlockables, let alone regular unlockables. That's why he mentioned the one he had just unlocked, so he didn't have to give anything away. Anyone who is not a moro would want the game to be a suprise.

Also, since when is wikipedia an official source? Are they Midway? NO!
