Mortal Kombat XL available March 1st

Got a key too but Im Australian. Will it be wasted if I try to use it because I thought the Beta was US only?

Edit 2: Whats strange is that I got this code a few hours after preordering KP2. Assemble the tin foil hats.

Admittedly I have wireless internet, but for me (XB1) the connection has certainly not been nearly as good as offline. An improvement over what we had before, perhaps.

I wouldn't be surprised it's so stupid that only selected people get to play this beta. It's not like rollback net code is some new tech that was invented yesterday. One things for sure if this net code isn't working by kp2 release heads will roll
 
Well, I haven't pre-ordered MK XL or KP2 and I got a code. It's very unlikely to be based on sales... how are they even going to link pre-orders with beta registrations? Not everyone even has a WBID account.

There's plenty of streamers and tournament players who received multiple beta codes through other means. You Don't have to have a wb account. You just got to know someone who happens to have extra. Btw I never said they force you to preorder the kp2 to get the code.I just said it wouldn't surprise me given how WB has handled business in the past I just don't think limiting the people who play is the best way to test the beta. It's shows how uncertain nrs is about this new netcode. Bbblp signed up the day the beta sign up was available and he has yet to received any code. Keeping people waiting by a fence Isn't the best way to promote your game. meanwhile street fighter is getting closer to release and it's beta is available to everyone that preorders sf5 (the irony lol).

It's basically a Komplete Edition. XL=KE

What do you mean by separate game? MKXL is MKX+KP1+KP2+all skin packs, probably all Krypt is unlocked (if MK9 is anything to go by, you can still explore the Krypt but brutalities and skins are available from the start) and DLC is on disc. So, yeah, it is a separate game with a re-balanced roster but anybody who got the vanilla version and KP1 will have the same version if they upgrade (=buy KP2). And if you don't buy KP2, the balance patch with the free Pit stage and the improved net code should still be available.

I'm wondering about the new netcode though. It is still being tested and XL is less than a month away. So you buy a copy of XL and you will have a 6GB day one patch to implement GGPO or what? So much for a Komplete Edition.
