Ok, prepare for some hilarity. I decided I would try to get the ball rolling with some voice over attempts. I'm curious to see what you guys think. haha

OMG haha ..... best to use the original voices lol
what is worth remembering that MK1 was based on B movies like "BIG THROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA and horror movies lol: D ..... mater the quality of the original is the key, it's like the old saying: " no snooping in team that is winning "....... and JS: continue with their remasters the music themes for each scenario, as are awesome!!
I guess it's best to use the original sprites then too. Can't snoop a winning team, after all.
And thanks for the kind words about the music. I'm taking a short break from the themes, but I'll have more before too long.
@Rene Dragus, not bad man. That's a pretty decent Asian-y accent. It was always hard for me to tell how thick the announcer's accent was supposed to be. Well done, though.
@la_luna, I think this sounds pretty promising. I'll let the others chime in, but I think you got pretty close!
Everyone should keep in mind that anything submitted can be cleaned up and "polished," so try not to listen too much to the recording quality, and just focus on the performance.
Well done, guys!![]()
Yeah, I'm not sure I can succesfully pull off Raiden's stuff. hahaha That shit is crazy.
Here's a reference for the MK1 Announcer for anyone else wanting to try their hand at it. I'll do some editing on the submitted voices and make some A/B comparison clips.

One thing I'd like to add is that anyone who wants to do some voices, make sure you aren't "clipping" when you record. This simply means that you are recording a signal too loud and overloading the channel. This is one thing that really can't be fixed. I noticed that Rene Dragus's file did this a time or two, so just try to be careful.
You can usually tell if you are clipping by looking at whatever program you are using to record. It will almost always have a gauge that looks something like this:

As you can see, the signal is going all the way up to the max amount, or "in the red." You don't want this. If this happens, turn down your signal volume a bit. Usually, about 3/4 the way up the gauge is a good volume. I realize many of you know this, but I just don't want to see a good performance lost because of clipping. Hope this helps!
EDIT: Here's a quick edit I did of Rene Dragus's "Scorpion" with a comparison to the original. I like to hear another take with a bit more focus on enunciation and perhaps recorded a bit further from the mic, but it's not too bad.
