Mortal Kombat 11 General Discussion Media Thread

I think that's a safe bet. We'll probably see them and Kabal since they teased him last time.

If we are lucky they'll give us a hint on another character for us to speculate about.

They said it's gonna be a big Kombat Kast. I really hope they don't waste everyone's time and go over any of the 7 already revealed characters. Show me Kabal and a maybe a new mode and I'm happy

Unfortunately there's a very good chance a bulk of the time will be spent on this :(
I don't want to see them repeating shit we already know, if people don't already know about info that's already been explained several times in detail then they can look shit up in there own time.

I'd honestly be fine with a character reveal and a new mode too.. either way I hope we get to see something new.

mandead.. do not say such things. I have not had a new Fujin fatality since the freaking 90's.

It's so hard to predict NRS' rosters anymore.

I was so sure Sektor and Baraka would be in MKX, there were some of the only characters to actually survive MK9. Both got killed, one of them got killed in the comic.

Fujin was insanely requested for MKX. We all thought he was a shoe-in for KP2. We got Bo Rai Cho again.

They brought back Baraka and Kabal for MK11.

Roster predictions are honestly a waste of time for this series.

How do you guys feel about the "Liu Kang is Shang Tsung" theory?
It's such an NRS thing to do. Trick us by showing us something without context. Liu Kang has never once thrown a flaming skull. That's Shang Tsung's main deal outside of his soul stealing. Could it be possible that in that story cutscene it's actually Shang Tsung who's throwing that skull? Or do you think it's just an artistic change to better reflect Liu Kang as the king of the damned?

I feel like this is very true... in a sense.

You can safely bet that anywhere between 70%-100% of the MK1/2/3 roster will be in any given MK title. And you can safely bet who 80% of those characters will be. The question is who are the remaining 20% for that particular game, and who gets in from games that are not MK 1/2/3. Now this shit... this shit be random.

This is very plausible but I don't think NRS will go down this road.. this time but the more I think about the more I'm buying into it. We Know how the story mode starts but that doesn't mean there won't be a time skip immediately after what we've already seen and what could happen during that time is a few deaths off screen.

Never thought of Liu actually being Shang although that skull threw me for a loop. Would be cool if it was Shang in Liu's form but we'll see :)

I tweeted that to Boon last night when the Crews stuff came up, the guy who played Jax still looks great and they could make his face look younger to help with the timeline. I'd love to see Jax without the metal arms and just some big wrist tech like he had in MK2.

That guy has an incredible physique for this age. Guy's a legend and is basically Jax. C'mon Eyebrows, you know what to do...

Even if she's strongly based on existing character, their base is unique itself so it distinguish her enough from any other characters from other fighting games. It's just Sakura/SF type - pupil, different gender, weaker but moar agile and she's got her own visual traits like punky hair.

I'm pleased there's literally no chance for Frost not being inculded in MK11, question is will she be right in main roster or as DLC.

Sonya is just horribly bland type just like Nina (Tekken) or Sarah (VF).

No chance, eh? We will see. In MKX she got a throwaway cameo. They didn't even bother giving her a more unique outfit. Even so we will see. For now, I am very skeptical.. also... afetr seeing Skarlet's look, not sure if I am down to see Frost.

I think this is more of an artistic choice and better fitting to show how far Liu Kang has fallen.

Imagine MKII Liu Kang seeing MKX Liu Kang conjuring a flaming skull, he would be very pissed off, cause we all know that's a Shang Tsung signature power!

Because they're too generic and are not what makes MK unique. Drop nostalgia glasses, there were many better characters in later games who fit lore more than some Generic Caucasian Blonde Female: Havik, Frost, Fujin, Daegon, Reiko, Drahmin and yes, even fukkin' Hsu Hao.
Remind me again which group of characters are more Box Office, and which era of MK is the BEST era of MK?

Johnny, Sonya, Jax, and Kano are so iconic to the MK series is the reason why they always usually come back. I don't know why people get so upset when Sonya or Johnny Cage comes back. It's like being surprise to see Chun Li or Guile come back in the next SF game.

Johnny Cage and Kano have gone been missing from games and it’s not a big deal.
The reason why people were upset with the MK3 roster wasn’t because Johnny Cage was missing, nor did a vocal majority complain when he was absent in MKvsDC.
People mostly complained about Scorpion missing and the horrible game mechanics in MKvsDC.
Let’s all not act like the Johnny Cage tombstone also isn’t a running joke.
Kano was also missing from MKII and no one even batted an eye.
Seems to me like the MK side of the MKvsDC roster is what NRS considers to be their “safe” / most important characters with Kano and Johnny being the wild card and Kung Lao added to that list.
