Mortal Kombat 11 General Discussion Media Thread

Liu Kang, the rightful champion. Thank the gods. I'm glad our hero isn't a selfy taking teeny bopper. That was embarrassing as an old school MK fan.
Anyone remember that Simpsons episode where the producers of Itchy and Scratchy tried to forcefeed Poochie on the show and it failed miserably? That's exactly what happened when Cassie was forcefed to us as the main protagonist.

I still think the main hero role needs to go to Hanzo Hasashi and Kuai Liang, but Liu Kang will suffice.

I don't hate Cassie, actually I hope she's better portrayed, but I do hope Liu Kang's personality is closer to the original than MK9/MKX where he was an a-hole. Worse than Cassie. Worse than JOHNNY.

The Chosen One is back, working alongside Raiden, accepting his guidance and I do hope he kicks Kronika's ass. We're back in business you ancient bald gorgeous crazy parental alienating time manipulator. Bring Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn and even Shinnok because we're gonna be 5th time :)

Well...jokes aside...this is MKII Liu Kang it seems. So he is already champion of the last tournament, but apparently hasn't beaten Shao Kahn not even once, much less Shinnok. I wonder if Shinnok in the game is a way to speed up all of Liu Kang's previous wins in a single story to make him the ultimate hero once more.

[...]

I just realized MK11 and Avengers: Endgame are one right after the other.

Man, 23-24 will be krazy with a k

I felt like Shinnok should have been a team effort defeat and not have Cassie defeat him.

I think Cassie could have bested him because of her plot armor, but it would be extremely better if after that, for example, Sub-Zero showed up, freeze him, then Hanzo used his spear on him, and Raiden used a little bit of his last energies to take him down. Kombat kids could have helped, Kenshi, you know, Shinnok was at his best form EVER. I don't know who had the bright idea of making Cassie defeat him ALONE.

You know, Deadly Alliance + Raiden vs Onaga style. And then the Jinsei sacrifice.

We see how this decision wasn't the best, as they are shifting to Liu Kang once more instead of throwing the new crisis into Cassie's shoulder. So far, she seems like an extremely skilled fighter, but still a young girl. The only way to set the standards high once again is to raise the idea that Liu Kang would have beaten Corrupted Shinnok with his eyes closed and now will probably be the one kicking Kronika's ass.

OMG! Spawn is exactly what Mortal Kombat needs. We are sorely lacking an undead vengeful character that uses some sort of chain weapon, GET OVER HERE! Oh wait, nah that’s the last thing the game needs, it would be better off having General Grevious, at least that would be a shocking cool surprise. Or you know 6 MK fighters to fulfill the Kombat Pack. Never mind the usual suspects, how about a reimagined Hotaru or Kai? I don’t know, I guess I don’t want anymore silly guest characters.

That's a good reference, though the solar system isn't the limit of Earthrealm as Ed said, so I wonder until where it's our realm if the limit is not physical.

Vogel once used as reference MARVEL's Thor logic, so the other realms would be aliens to us, I just wonder the distance.

It doesn't seem to be very far from our system, I'd guess.

That's what everyone imagined, but as I said above, Vogel used MARVEL's logic (planets in different places, all connected), and now Ed comes to say that even outside of the solar system is Earthrealm.

Also, MK9 Nexus showed separate dimensions.

Think Star Trek Deep Space Nine & Starr Trek Voyager with the Bajoran Wormhole (the prophets), the Q, the Borg, the... you get it...

Something else that Ed confirmed during the Game Informer rapid fire question segment really excited me: Multiple Story Mode endings. Although, he would not say if there were more than 3.

Oh and Story Mode cutscenes total two and a half hours if you were to watch them as a movie.

We're seeing three characters in today's Kast, and given tyler's tweets we are probably getting Noob, Cetrion, and either Kitana or Frost, of course it could also be Kollector but I doubt it.

Or maybe Shinnok should have won instead.

"Shinnok did exactly what he said he was going to. He wiped all life from the universe."

Scorpion and Sub-Zero: "Whatever it takes!"

MK: Endgame.

Except the fact nobody would be alive. And the One Being would devour the Elder Gods.

Noob's bio is bothering me.
His trait is "Recognition" and mentions that he seeks honor now that Quan Chi is dead.

That's about as far from Noob as you can get. Whoever is writing these bios is terrible

I seem to recall Noob being the good guy at one point.

Cetrion gameplay now seems so boring. I know i will not try her. Matter of fact all the females seems boring and lack combos and just keep away characters except Sonya and Jacqui
