I've been waiting 4 years to see the showdown battle Kenshi/Daegon/ Takeda/Taven

I hope it's in an MK11 story DLC kombat pack that adds both characters AND chapter in the story.
 
Interested to see what kinda crazy stuff they do, whether or not everything is accurate I'm not sure about, but hey we get watch people punch and slice things so it's at least good for a quick watch.
 
Yea, unfortunately the chances of Taven and Daegon showing up for 11 are pretty slim, oh well, maybe we'll see the Red dragon become relevant again next time (I would like to see more representation from them).
 
I hated Taven. In a crazy world like Mortal Kombat, I didn't like that this one character was so vastly more important and capable than everyone else. He came out of nowhere and it felt so undeserved.
 
Taven is the most generic main character in a fighting game in my opinion. I'm surprised to see people that like him because I remember no one like him when MK: A came out.

While I'm not a huge Taven fan, I must admit he did grow on me during Armageddons Konquest mode ( I actually replayed a few months back, still pretty fun). I did like how snarky and tired he got with all the stupid stuff that was happening by the time armageddon rolled around, it was like a new MK fan reacting to Mk Lore for the first time.

Yes, please! I assume all/certain characters will have more than three base costumes to choose from, considering the region skins and the fact that the UMK3ish Scorpion from the trailer still hasn't appeared in game. I would definitely love to see classic, movie and maybe even 3D era gear. Or something that resembles them.

I'd personally like to see the Mythologies/MK4 kostume for Sub-Zero. That one was one of my favorites.

I've been playing since MK1 and I believe there's a lot of 3D era characters that are good and deserve attention.

Ashrah and Drahmin were my personal favorites.
 
Ashrah was by far the character I hated the most out of the 3d era. What's the difference between her and Sareena?
 
Ashrah is a totally usable character, specially right now. She had dumb moves, but the idea she was a demon seeking redemption by killing other demons with a special sword could absolutely be used right now. There's a Netherrealm War pt.2 coming, she could have a space.

Also, during Deception she had an interesting arc with Ermac for reasons she could battle the many revenants out there, I think she could be a character useful right now, but I really doubt she would.

They should have a sub plot where Noob Saibot and Ashrah make opposite rebellions while Kitana and Liu Kang have to hold Raiden.

Different outcomes, different versions, etc. This would make possibilities endless, and they wouldn't have to explain shit by bringing kids, but at the same time keeping original kast young.

A reboot sounds even more awful, considering that we just got one 2 games ago. They can easily do a Back To The Future II type of thing without having to reboot anything. The way I see it, NRS' favorite cop-out (Quan Chi) is dead, so they had to find another way around that, and Kronika was the answer.
Plus, if Kronika really is the woman in Jade's MK9 ending, as almost everyone is assuming by now, then why foreshadow having another reboot in a couple of games down the road? That just reeks of lack of faith in the writing team, from the get-go.

They seem to be fine with the "passing the torch" stuff, given that they're bringing back Cassie, Jacqui, Kotal Kahn, Erron Black and D'Vorah, if the leaks are true, and with Kittelsen helping them write for MK11, they can keep expanding on this established lore.
Sure, not all of the MKX new descendant characters may be back for this one, but not every MK1 and MKII character initially made it into MK3, MK4 and Deadly Alliance, either.

Sure, the possibility of multiple timelines existing may come to fruition, but that doesn't mean they need to do MK1, MKII and MK3 every single time or do another reboot.
I do think that this would make the possibilities endless for what they could do, and I agree with you there.
Perhaps there's a universe (for example) where Liu Kang and Kitana DO bring Edenia back to it's former glory, or a universe in where Jacqui is arch enemies with her father after a falling out between them.
Who knows?
That said, I'd rather have those endless possibilities than either another reboot or Armageddon game.

When I meant Reboot, I didn't mean go through MK1-2-3, but just overall. Brand new story different beginning. In a sense a new timeline.

It is pretty much me being naive and daydreaming about a set MK Lore, with fully built worlds (story wise), and gameplay that takes advantage of that. Konquest mode, mixed with fighting? Hell yeah. And I know this is gonna be super unpopular opinion, but I would be down to see 3D fighting back. Tech has improved and after trying out DOA gameplay (through dropped it pretty quick. One can only endure so much of japanese girl moaning) I see potential for it.

But yeah drastically different timelines with different possibilties sounds cool. For example.

Mileena gets lost during the first invasion of Earthrealm. Gets knocked out or something. Found by monk village, where she is treated, and during her stay they beat out her savage side, by introducing her to discipline and at the same time helping her to overcome her shame for having Tarkatan mouth. So you get Monk Mileena.

Or in another timeline, instead of Scorpion, You get Kuai Liang who lost his family, and blames Shirai Ryu.

Or... Kano being a good guy pirate, and Sonya being a closet psychopath with no regard for human life. Or hell. Kano as a cop... Robocop...

It would be seriously cool, and wouldn't feel stupid, if there is reasoning for that.

Another one... Shao Kahn... a fair and just leader, who doesn't like violence. And is polite.
 
I had a feeling that Kronika and this whole time travel thing won't really mark the end for this timeline, so much as it will serve to fix some of the lingering plot-threads and character deaths that currently don't have an easy way to fix. I feel like this will be the DC rebirth of MK, where they won't reboot everything so much create a best of both worlds timeline going forward.

Also we should keep in mind that there will be multiple endings, with possibly very different outcomes for the future of MK, maybe this will be NRS way of seeing what kind of future people want for the universe and go with the ending that seems the most popular (bit farfetched but still).

I feel like that would be better explored in this game. Rather than piss off fans by changing a character into something else, just give them optional skins of new timeline characters. Kano in Spec ops gear, Sub-Zero turns into a blue skeleton like Scorpion when he uses ice powers, Noob Saibot throws out Robot Smoke instead of his Shadow.

"I cannot wait to reveal her." Somehow Frost doesn't come to mind, when the dude is trying to seel a character. Sounds more like Jade. But we will see.
