Sheeva really was never a major character. They never really seemed like they had any intention of developing her, so leaving her out of the game probably wouldn't be a big deal. However, Smoke i'm on the fence with. After Reptile, he's the most notable secret character in the MK series. I'd love to see him peeking his head out from behind the trees in the Living Forest. If he went secret character on us again, I'd be fine with that. Sheeva though? Take her or leave her. If she's gone it's not that big of a deal.
Actually, now that I think about it, hasn't she been hinted at or revealed already?

I don't see the point of having smoke in the game, In the story mode sure, but to me all he is, is a churched up gray scorpion. And I think that if they made him how he is in MK3 he would be too much like scorpion in that game, which we don't need any clone characters in the game, but if they changed his moves around all of the fan boys will be upset. So leaving him out of game play and putting him in the story would be a good decision in my eyes.

I don't believe Goro or Shao Khan will be playable from the get go, playable bosses is a post MKu3 thing. With those two out (which they should and better be) that gives you two slots for Sheeva and Smoke.

he leaked 6 characters for marvel vs capcom 3, which were all true, so he become the internet got of leakage pretty much. He could say one of the characters is Steven Hawkings and people will believe, just because he said it. *cough* savage *cough*
But he hasn't seemed to be wrong so, only time will tell.

Well one of the results I got was him being wrong.
And it was over MvC3 actually.
I'm just lookin for proof that I should believe a word he says.
Not that it matters. My 3 characters are already in game so I'm happy.
I just wanna know what the roster will look like so I can start getting into other characters.

Yeah man, All my guys other then rain are in *starts to tear up*. I'm excited to play as Quan Chi on a 2D field though

Quan Chi was never one of my favorites.
But I'm biased a bit. Haha.
Scorpion is my favorite and Quan Chi screwed him over so I naturally don't like him.
(I get very involved with characters in video games... )

I understand, I honestly hate the sub-zero blood line and never pick him to play as because I think he is a deuce bag, cuz scorpion is my favorite as well. You've got to pick one over the other

as for unplayable sub-bosses if you are going to have Goro and Kintaro then I think Motaro will be in as non-playable also I mean what is the point to leave him out?
The game is a fan service so I think that would strongly suggest the 3 sub-boss + Shao-kahn final boss unlockable depending who you play as in story mode you meet different sub-bosses

I know the truth now this game will include everything from MK1-MK3 excluding the warrior shrine which is now shang tsungs garden and will have some new stuff too

Lets hope Sheeva is in. I'd pick Sheeva over Rain any day. Please leave Rain to DLC if he must be in NRS.
I really do not think Shao Kahn will be playable. I have a simple logic to why I don't think Kahn will be playable, at least inititially. Since this game is supposed to make a grand statement for the rebirth of MK, Kahn must remain a major obstacle. Making him playable will take away his ultimate boss feel. I think that he will definately be the one player that is un-playable. I would rather Goro and Shang also be unplayable but, I am willing to accept Shang Tsung being playable since he was playable since MK2. Shao Kahn and Goro on the other hand were playable way later in the series. It made Kahn that much more special that he wasn't playable.
Lets hope Sheeva is in. I'd pick Sheeva over Rain any day. Please leave Rain to DLC if he must be in NRS.

I think there would be a logical reasoning for Goro, Kintaro and Tsung to be playable.
They are all just underbosses. Not the most powerful, but not weak.
