Do you think Sheeva and Smoke will be secret characters?

Shows 24 kombatants. With the Australia banning article, Quan Chi and Kabal are revealed.

That pushes us up to 26. Assuming that Quan Chi isn't downloadable and is part of the starting roster, this would mean that all of the starting roster is released.

Is anyone else slightly disappointed with some of the characters that didn't make it?

(I'm hoping human Smoke is a secret character since it doesn't seem like he will be available.)

Considering the released ratings board results said there were only 25, and it doesn't account for Skarlett, who has been leaked as playable, I think there are a few unlockables. Which is inconsistent with some of the things said before, I know, but the math is wrong no matter which way you slice it. The only way this isn't the case is if the Lupinko leak was untrue, which I highly, highly doubt.

yea, it seems unlikely that Lupinko was wrong about his leak. I think the number 25(26) confirms now that there will definitely be unlockable characters.

Call me silly, but I'm not going by anything until NRS confirms it. Not doubting the general info from the advisory board or Lupinko's leaks, just the logistics of everything surrounding it.

Either way, Kahn will not be playable from the outset. That just wouldn't make much sense at all, you know?

I dunno. MK4 and Deadly Alliance's bosses were playable from the start except Moloch and Goro. That would be similar if Goro is truly unplayable in this game too. I'm hoping Kahn's unlockable though.

The other problem with the roster that has been released to us, is that there was no change in anyone. Unless Boon was trolling us when he said that things would be different and someone who wasn't a cyborg before would be now, the collective information released about "confirmed" playable characters is inconsistent.

I would bet that either Quan Chi is downloadable (possibly free, but DLC nonetheless) and/or bosses won't be playable (Goro, Kahn, and Tsung).

I'm just a little disappointed that nothing has been left as a surprise with the roster. Even disregarding the recent news, nearly all of the characters have been confirmed anyways.

Sheeva and mysterious lady in red do not seem to fit unless Shao Kahn does not count into starting roster. But I do trust Lupinko's leaks, he gave so much detail about Sheeva's skin rip fatality and all..but we'll see

OK given everything that has came out with the mag and the statement It now seems that the statement may be wrong and there is 26 characters on the select screen. We now know 24 characters. There are 3 of the first 26 characters left. With that said any of the 2 remaining slots could be taken by a boss or a new or newer character but it seems unlikely to me. It just seems to be a bad move and one that goes against what they have said. So hopefully we will just have to wait for on of the 26 and if so my money is on Rain as DLC but I would consider any of the 3 remaining to be safe now. All I know for sure is that if they leave them out there will be a lot of upset fans.

I really think she'll be a starter. My money is on Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, and Goro being unlockables(not DLC)
But then again, Shao Kahn is on the mk widget.....

Okay according to that new german magazine preview, the number of characters is a solid 26. If Shao Kahn is not part of the main roster and is unlockable (better yet, unplayable), then Sheeva or Rain are left. Sheeva I am assuming would be put in over rain, we shall see.

Khan having a fatality doesn't mean he'll be playable.

What about Smoke guys? Just about everyone has been revealed or at least mentioned, except for Smoke.

if noob & jade are in then NRS would be stupid to not put in Smokey

plus Boon said someone might not be a cyborg....who else???? HAS TO BE SMOKE

according to the xbox360 live magazine:

"26 fighters on the disc, more shall follow via paid download; in addition to the current fighter selection there are planned minimum two extra characters"

the Maniac magazine tells us that shang tsung is a boss and they aren´t sure if he´s playable... i think he will be not in the main roster but unlockable

Wait is he like the main boss or a sub-boss? What about Shao Kahn?

Smoke hasn't really been confirmed yet, do you think they would've taken Sheeva in instead of Smoke? because Lupinko did mention Sheeva unless shes DLC.
