Do you think Sheeva and Smoke will be secret characters?

Sheeva and mysterious lady in red do not seem to fit unless Shao Kahn does not count into starting roster. But I do trust Lupinko's leaks, he gave so much detail about Sheeva's skin rip fatality and all..but we'll see

They may treat Kahn like they did in MK v. DC and not make him part of the main 26 and he may be like an unlockable on the side or something, so if he isnt apart of the 26 that puts sheeva there, and the lady in red might be another unlockable or hidden.

either way, if the final roster looks like you have it, or the way i am talking about it, i am 100% satisfied with it

no point speculating on secret characters because they are secret!!!

DLC to follow no doubt that is the marketing ploy to complete the character list from UMK3 and all the arenas bar 1 or 2 definatley.warrior shrine replaced by shang tsungs gardens

Sheeva is in according to Lupinko's leaks and the lady in red is most likely a secret/unlockable character.
I don't think Shao Kahn will take one spot in the starting roster so if the bosses are unplayable/locked and the roster is 25, then Shang Tsung is out.

Even though Shang Tsung is technically a boss, who else could possibly be the 26th slot on the STARTING roster?
Shao Kahn?
Shang Tsung is a mimic character as confirmed by Lupinko. Usually in fighting games characters that are somewhat like picking random are always on the starting roster, but who knows?
My guess is that Shang Tsung will be the 26th slot. It just makes the most sense to me.

Shang Tsung will be the unlockable one I can just smell it....

this aussie guy who classified the game as banned said 25 so that means 25 with 1 unlockable character=26 (it took him over 15 hours to complete it so I will take it that he was not very good at the game either and probably never unlocked the 26th character) + atleast 2 extra characters in-game that confirms shao kahn and goro so actually looking at your list there is 1 space left I think on that rosterbut who it is lets just wait for the game to come out now there has got to be some stuff left unrevealed otherwise it will be boring

He said the story mode includes over 15 hours of gameplay. That is an estimate that includes the story modes for ALL characters and does not mean it took him 15 hours to complete the game. Also, he was only citing the unclassification report from the Australian Government classification board. This does not mean he actually played the game. The details that are coming out currently stem from this report.

All of the voice leaks seem to be the character intros though.

Nah why would they put Stryker in before Smoke? I'm pretty sure all the voice file leaks were made for playable characters only.

I do to have to say that I do enjoy all the "why would they put Stryker in but not _____" that people seem to justify. I mean it's not like Smoke started out as a simple palette swap ninja while Stryker is notoriously known for having a diverse amount of opinions (mostly hate as I see it) but he was still an original character.

That being said, Smoke will definitely go in the game.

Not exactly. In Tekken 5, Mokujin, who's the mimic character, was unlockable.

Well the ones we have seen but Smoke's was in a different file than the rest. I think it was Smoke, Human Sektor and the "Taste like chicken" ( I think it is Kano's when he licks his knife ) together and not in the main folder. So Smoke's may not be an intro but I'm still really hoping for Human Smoke.

Ah shit, my bad guys. I dont know, Smoke should be in... As for Shao Kahn I am 50% sure hes unlockable and 50% sure hes unplayable. Its a toss up, but I am 100% sure that he isnt part of the main roster. Now that we have a confirmed 26 character roster, then everyone will be able to fit, minus rain and unlockables.

im not counting goro and shao kahn. i believe they will be unlockable and not part of the 26

Right now, we know Goro is UNPLAYABLE. Shao Kahn is a toss up between unlockable and unplayable, but we do know hes not part of the initial roster.

We already know that the character select screen has changed from what we saw before, and I also assume 26 is NOT the final number of characters on disc anymore. I wouldn't trust a magazine with official number until I see an actual screen shot of the new select screen, and even then we don't know if any are unlockable, but still on disc.

All of the characters we heard so far that are officially playable are 21 spots-
scorpion, mileena, reptile, subzero, kung lao, nightwolf, kitana, cyrax, sektor, cage, sonya, kratos, ermac, jax, noob, raiden, kano, liu kang, jade, stryker, sindel

That leaves us with these characters that have been rumored to be playable:
baraka
quan chi
shang tsung
smoke
kabal
sheeva
shao kahn
scarlett

This list is 8, not 5 for the total 26. So either the total number of playable characters on DISC (unlockable and initial roster) is more than 26, or there will be a lot more DLC characters than anticipated. Especially when any of these extra characters haven't even been added in:

robot smoke
rain
tanya
fujin
goro
kintaro
motaro

After reading just about everything in this thread. I'm going to agree with you. Screw what the media says. I'll wait for NRS to confirm the official roster or until Release day if need be to confirm who is in the game. Speculating is cool and all but being this close, I would like an official confirmation.
