I saw this today. It wasn't a surprise to me.. MK owns all other fighting games :cool:
Glad to see they got spot they deserved.
 
I'm glad MK is doing well, let's not get bigheaded about it. Sales ensure that a series will continue in development, but it's not the end-all-be-all indication of the quality of the game.

mmm i agree. i think humility should be our tactic. I find the MK community a lot more tight nit than the others. I thinks its the history and the ol skool gamers. Im proud to be a Kombatant ^___^

Lets just hope NRS sees this and rewards our support and our $/£/€'s spent with some nice DLC to keep us happy.
 
**** Street Fighter and everyone else who doubted Mortal Kombat :reddy:! We finally beat them. I am so happy right now. I always knew MK was better than all of fighting game series.

Now, I can rest. :mullet:

I am proud to be a MK fan:).
 
That still doesn't change the fact MK is NOT getting anymore DLC, so I don't give a damn.

Us? Immature? At least most of stood with MK for the longest time. A lot of gamers and Capcom players use to talk MAD SHIT about MK because we had bad games. But now since MK9 is a tourny sence, everyone who talked mad shit about MK jumped onto the bandwagon. That's pretty dumb of them to talk shit about the MK series and at the end to play it so much.
 
I knew that would be the case lol. I rented MVSC3 from gamefly and after 20 minutes of playing it and suffereing through the super nintendo-like mechanics and stupid announcer quotes "Awesome!", "What a combo!", "Yeah that's my taunt" and 2nd grade character quotes that kept going on and on I placed the CD in the return envelope and sent it back within the hour. Anyone who is seriously into sophistacated fighting games CAN NOT take this game seriously as to worth playing. Marvel Versus Capcom 3 is good for kids not yet old enough to even play MK VS DC. Bottom line: Marvel Versus Capcom 3 is a half baked game.
 
Hey guys, I LOVE my MK, but lets not even pretend that the Street Fighter series, isn't the better or more successful.

I'll grant you MvC3, what a joke of a game. And AE is on the cotails of SF IV and SSF IV. Though I understand that MK9 shifted more units in the USA than SF IV did on it's opening week, no small feat!

At the end of the day, only MK I, II, III and this game are worth talking about. Virtually all the SF games, SF II, III, IV, SF vs X Men, Alpha, have all been superb. People still talk about those games. I mean who the Hell talks about anything after III? And MK vs DC was a joke.
 
Of course it would beat Capcom. I like some Capcom, SNK, Namco, and Tecmo games but nothing beats this newly ressurected Mortal Kombat!!! Mostly because those other games are much more difficult and complex and the fact that Capcom and SNK are ripping off people through DLC especially. Plus, WB is a very good company and is creating another wonderful game for 2012 (Lollipop Chainsaw). ;-)
 
I'm pretty happy about this actually, it's nice to see MK get the recognition it deserves, NRS truly outdid themselves with this game.

like i've said, sales don't mean di-k, but more money for ed and his staff; however, it doesn't mean better games for any of us, if history is an indicator. mk has been hitting big numbers for decades, in spite of it's poor quality, but that hasn't prompted ed to try to push that quality. on the contrary, mk got worse and worse--and even more corners were cut-- as the years went on and it still sold millions of copies because of the fresh batch of pre-pubescent boys who will always be there to spend mommy and daddy's money on sex and violence.

justin bieber outsells mozart but does that make bieber god's gift to music? hellz naw! so it's cool to revel in mk's success, but please don't think popularity == quality. mk is like those saw movies.
