MK Legacy Discussion

I liked it, but sure is a lot to nitpick about it. i think the animation, while its really nice, and the quality reminds me of animatrix and kill bill, it has no place in the series, everything so far has been live action, throwing this off in a series is confusing as hell, and the fact it constantly switches between live action and anime is really inconsistent and make the direction alot worse. From the first few episodes i really expected this show to go off in a more realistic tone like batman in the dark knight, where outworld and edenia would have been completely absent from the story, and the more grotesque characters be reimagined as humans, like what they did to baraka in the Rebirth pilot episode. While i don't think it's impossible to make a world of magic and myths seem realistic, i think they kinda took a step backwards with the presentation of outworld in this show. Could've been done a lot better in my opinion. But oh well, let's see where this is going.

I liked episode 4; I like how so far all of them are represented in a different style. I hate the cliffhanger ending though lol

Wow, Baraka looked like shit. And why are they all of a sudden throwing animated comics into the mix? Strange.

It was probably cheaper than using decent looking CGI for some of those scenes.

Anyway... The episode was nice, but nothing special. Baraka was terrible and Kahn needed his skull mask, badly.

It's not the best.
Also, Baraka was probably like that because they didn't use CGI. (or I don't believe there's any.) It's probably a low budget thing, so they don't have enough money for CGI.

Re: Mortal Kombat:Legacy episode 5

Thanks for the reminder. I'll move this to the Legacy discussion though.

People are to critical over this. Lucky to get anything at all. The cross between animation and film has been done fine for over 30 years. It a effective way of story telling. I think lots of people thought this was gonna be a full on deal. For the money this man has been dealt to work with he is doing a good job. I think if this man was given a 100 million dollar budget it would be a good turn out. What you people dont understand is his movie deal is incumbent upon this work. You should be supporting not complaining.

Yep...just wasting my time watching 16 minutes (epi 4 & 5) of an anime...that's exactly what I want to see when watching MK Legacy...All the talk of good acting when majority of the last two episodes was cartoon....how does that work.

I see what you're saying but I'm pretty sure WB don't want to make a friggin cartoon if they do pick it up for a movie. So far we haven't really seen anything after 5 episodes that would really pull me in any way to make this a movie. So far...garbage....but I appreciate what's being done!

Am I the only one who thinks the first and second episode were epic, then every episode just slowly got worse and worse? Third ep was alrite, but the last two were lame

The main issue is there is no time for anything. So we are left with a jump in scene aka get to it scene. There is no time for dialogue it seems, to further the current scene if that makes sense. Basically its like starting a conversation half way threw your thought lol.

I think wb is going off the views.

The Kitana/Mileena episodes were just bad...they had potential, but they just weren't good...

I think Scorpion and Sub Zero are the only ones that were mentioned and haven't had their episodes yet... I really hope they don't take up the remaining five episodes, I get that they are "favorites" but i just hope there are some surprises left too.

We still have sektor and cyrax episode left as well as the rayden and "blue" episode and the season finale will be scorp and sub.

Everything is wrong with this show, not just the length of the episodes. Kevin is a horrible director, he can handle action scenes but not actors. Horrible acting, cheese dialogs, the characters look silly, its just a big disappointment.

i agree... this episode was 8 mins..
1min =previously
3 mins=animation (if you can call static moving body parts animation)
2 mins=live action
2 mins=credits

very poor episode...

im sure when all the episodes are edited together it'll be like the length of a feature film (1 and a half hours)..

Another terrible episode. Enough with this animation garbage

Best to Worst
Johnny Cage
Sonya and Jax Part 1
Sonya and Jax Part 2
Kitana and Mileena Part 2
Kitana and Mileena Part 1

I didn't like Part 2 as much as the other eps, but I think it was still okay. The video length is killing me though lol. I'm looking forward to the next episode.

Am I the only one who enjoyed the animation? Reminded me of Kill Bill... and I really love that movie. :D I agree there should have been less animation, but I don't think the budget is big enough. I don't know, I just really liked Part 2. I think it was done MUCH better than part 1. (I did like part 1 though.)
