MK Legacy Discussion

Well I was digging the first 3 episodes, then the Kitana and Mileena animated crap show came along. U_U;

Two episodes of pure non-stop BOREDOM. Episode 4 was limit-okay but the 5th one was completely useless and could have been resumed in 1 minute at the end of ep.4.

Am I the only one who enjoyed the animation?
Meh. It's okay I guess if you like lazy ass animations and ugly art.

I say you're either a movie or an animated series, don't try to be both cuz you'll fail.

i guess jcvd's daughter didn't get the role as "maileena" (lol) in the mortal kombat "movie" to fight againsts "kiteena". it might be her but i can't tell because of the dark lighting and the makeover they've given her but her name isn't mentioned in the credits so it's unlikely. although there is a chance that she may have not been speaking about the webseries but an actual movie. o_O

here's the episode of jean claude van damme behind closed doors which aired yesterday in the uk.

^Wow. If we can find out the actual taping timeframe of this webisode for JCVD, then we can narrow it down to it being Legacy or not. If it isn't Legacy, it looks like WB is already pusing for a new MK movie and doing work on it. Hell yeahhh....

Off topic: Whomever was the girl w/ braces with JVCD's daughter that was auditioning can get it!

No episode 6!!! I was rushing to open my brother's laptop to watch episode 6 of MK:Legacy. But when I go to Youtube. Machinima reposted the Episode 5 the Part 2 of Millena and Kitana!!! How come they didn't post the new episode?? Damn machinima!!!

You should be able to see episode 6 now, I'm in the east coast (NY) so I usually have to wait until 3 O'clock to see the new episode

Wow Kev, you kinda ****ed this one up!
I didn't like the kitana mileena thing too much, but they explored events in the mythology and did well on that, while showcasing a few characters.
This Raiden episode went entirely the wrong direction... why would you change the vibe and buck consistency more than halway through a webseries? that's just dumb. especially with such an important character.

Even taking it on its own terms it didn't work at all. The source of raiden's power remains ambiguous, and that doctor is just...evil... for almost no reason.

They could tie in the patient being posessed, like a god's avatar... or something, I guess. But this was a giant step backwards.

Raiden was still a Thunder God if you havent noticed the fact that a crater was in the ground with him in it at the beginning...which indicated that he likely fell from the sky.

I think it was a bad sign that they felt the need to put a disclaimer in before this episode, it's almost like a cop out. Stand by your work and don't be all wishy-washy about it, that's just giving carte blanche to the complainers. I agree that it was somewhat of a detour story wise, but overall I thought it was really well done. I mean, if someone appeared claiming to be a god of thunder that's probably what would happen to them. I loved the part of the end where he takes the old dude's coolie hat and completes the MK1 Raiden look.

Possibly, funny enough this has a similar plotline to the beginning of the Ultimate Thor comics but good thing KT didnt strip him of his god status to make this "real" for the Rebirth fans.

I loved this episode, it was absolutely amazing. I keep having to ask myself why the more hardcore fans seem to dislike this direction though, I guess being nothing more than a casual fan until a few months ago I'm less likely to know the mythology let alone want it stuck to. The disclaimer was most likely due to the complaints that it didn't fit in with MK9 and given that this was a pretty drastic change to the mythology they felt it best to actually tell people.

Still, the idea was inspired and I like this Raiden a lot.

This episode was a huge step forward from the Kitana and Mileena arc. I hated how they did the episodes. I'm not hating on the way they told the canon storyline but how it was portrayed. This episode with Raiden, beautiful, masterful, loved it. This is what Kevin was giving us back with MK: Rebirth. Two thumbs up! Let's hope he continues with this style.

Note 1: Love the ending with the MK1 look.
Note 2: Am I the only one who's noticed that both actors who play Raiden and Stryker were on Battlestar Galactica?

Actually like the realistic direction it took with raiden still being a thunder god although I thought him taking that hat was pretty cheesy considering it was just to complete his game look. Not bad for a series that is rushed though.

haha yea you'd think the last thing a thunder god who just escaped a mental facility would need is a hat. but it was a good episode...

not too short + no cartoon animations = good episode

My only complaint about Legacy is it needs Jade. No, seriously, Jade was there with Kitana throughout their childhood, they should show that.

No. Jade was there in the Mortal Kombat universe we're used to not this one. Unless they elaborate and she was indeed there.

Loved that ending where Raiden took the coolie hat and walked off without saying anything.

Dude, you EPICALLY FAILED on this rant. Raiden REALLY WAS A GOD IN THIS VIDEO. I'd think his various light shows would make that pretty obvious.

That being said, I wasn't crazy about the Thor rip off for this episode, and it seems really implausible that AN ALL-POWERFUL GOD like Raiden would repeatedly have trouble teleporting into the right places.
