Because denying the rumor would be lying since the game does exist in some form. And confirming it would defeat the purpose of making an announcement. The problem is that many think WB is doing something wrong by not confirming or denying the rumor. Haven't you heard of the phrase "No comment" as an answer by any company or celebrity to a rumor? That is exactly what WB is saying. Nothing. They will make their announcement when they're good and ready, simple as that.

I don't think it's coming out as a stand alone thing. Now I think it's just going to be a part of some collector's edition MK9. Or it just got cancelled point blank. Do you guys remember Mortal Kombat: Fire and Ice? Yeah... even that had a couple screenshots and everything and it got cancelled quick sharp.

Well, you clearly got the attention you were seeking "gamemk", seems like you care more about how "unjustly" the developers make money, more than the actual game. Honestly, its capitalism, weve been living in this society for so long, get over it and just play the game for the fact that it is simply Mortal Kombat.

Have you actually seen the newer gameplay vids of MK? I was pessimistic at first, but the more I see, the more I'm digging it.
And you'd only be shorting yourself by ignoring the HD Kollection simply because you don't want the new Mortal Kombat. That's just asinine.
His "logic" doesn't make much sense to me. He'd rather pay $40 for a game that he knows he likes but not $60 even if it will come with a game he knows he'll like and a game that he might like, too.
Then he goes on to proudly proclaim how he'll completely abandon NR and go spend $70 on MvC3 (which might suck too) that is just ONE game with some useless frills.

The same thing that made me check this thread 10-15 times a day, will make me buy MK9 on the first day its out. And I hate admitting that because I feel like a consumerist slave to the MK product.
I really do hope I stop obsessing over news though, it kinda has consumed me this past month and interfered a little bit with my schoolwork. So here's to the disappointment we all feel over this game, and to the realignment of my priorities. See you later MK HD obsession.

I'm definitely buying MK 9.

If they did a piece of s*** move like that, I'd just wait until the HD Arcade Kollection was a PS3 "Greatest Hits" at $10 or even $5.
I'm NOT going to buy the HD Kollection at FULL price at that point, in 2011.
When I get it, it'll be for the least amount of money possible.

Overall if this game does come out it would be kind of stupid to release it anytime after December. Especially bundling it with MK9. If it came with MK9 that would be the best way to make it go completely unnoticed, as much as I'd like it, why would I focus on playing the old games when I've just bought the brand new MK? They would be best releasing it now as to tide people over till MK9 as well as make a lot of sales over the holiday. Because as much as I'd love to play the HD Kollection I would barely know it exists if I had just bought MK9.

I'm new to the forum, so I apologize if this has already been discussed. On the Ultimate MK3 Wikipedia page it lists that Ultimate MK3 is coming to the PlayStation Network in March 2011. If this is the case, why would they release the HD Kollection if 1 of the 3 games will be available for download in March? I know Wiki isn't always reliable, but I figured I'd put this out there.

Considering they can't even link a source to this, I call BS. Not saying it won't happen or couldn't happen, but I could post that MK9 was cancelled on Wikipedia and that wouldn't make it fact... but I could do it. ;-)

Good point. I went back and noticed there was no link. I wish one or the other would happen. I still have trilogy so that can satisfy me for now. Anyone know if I can download UMK3 for Xbox Live anymore? I purchased it years ago, but my 360 died. I have a new one now. Wasn't sure if I could download it again, since I bought it once.

Just a quick point of view here:
Has anyone noticed how much of a buzz this game's potential existence has created for MK9? Just some food for thought... that could very well explain why they haven't made any statement about it. It's free advertising for the MK name, and people are already frothing at the mouth for MKHD. It'll be boiling over by the time MK9 comes out, making it even more of a financial success because of the longer wait for MK than we were hoping to satiate with MKHD.
If it's not real, don't expect any answer...they're gonna ride that free hype all the way to MK9.
