MK Arcade Kollection gameplay

I wish they would hurry up and release it. I preordered the classic arcade sticks and I need those to finish my arcade cabinet.

Tbh, i'm not that excited about the collection, i've played all the games so many times that game play is just uninteresting as it's games i already have (sure it's now a perfect arcade port but it still effectively adds nothing new, would've been nice if they added some new secrets and stuff like MK1 having 2 fatalities per character etc... just little added bonuses to warrant buying it.

Should be interesting what achievements/trophies they come up with. Hopefully they aren't all just "Win XX Matches Online".

A few things. I think it's a bad idea to leave the three locked unless once they get unlocked they STAY unlocked. Also I would like to see what is in the Options selection. I hope there is a difficulty option and screen size option. I was a fan of the screen stretching on umk3 on xbla. I hate the stupid side bars when playing on a 55" tv

Very valid points there...especially your mention of the those stupid side bars. Like MK2 for PSN, you get the option to stretch the screen to fit your tv screen as well.

Stretching the screen would cause distortion issues, 4:3 image on a 16:9 widescreen HDTV would make the fighters look like oompa loompas. If they didn't have side bars to keep the original proportions, people would complain the screen was too stretched out.

We're talking about games made between 1992-1995. They'd look as good filling up your 55 inch TV as a standard definition episode of the Wonder Years would.

Also how many times did Midway make money off the original games? I only recall the Midway Arcade Treasures and adding them as bonus material for deluxe editions of the main series games. Other than MK2 on PSN and UMK on XBL, I don't recall them directly selling the original trilogy on current gen consoles.

Besides, I don't think a gun will spring out from either console demanding that this be purchased. If it's not your bag, so be it. Personally, it's a day one purchase for me even if playing MK1 online will be a mind-f for me.
