Speaking of underground bands, I absolutely hate people who think they are cool for listening to underground/lesser known bands. I listen to a lot of bands that a lot of people haven't heard of but it doesn't make me any better than the guy who listens to bands everyone knows. That elitist shit is pathetic.
 
I don't think anyone here is an elitist its just that we all have different tastes in music that is all, some like newer stuff some like older stuff etc. just like in games. I also like bands that no ones ever heard of and if someone happens to know that band then good for them, like I said I prefer all the older stuff whether they are KNOWN or not I just don't care for newer bands plain and simple. Now i'm from San Diego CA and unfortunately the part I live in is filled with “swaggers” and wannabe gangsters who are into hip hop and all that stuff they call music nowadays, so we don't get a lot of that metal scene except every now and then. We sometimes have local bands play here but its mostly just alternative rock bands. Now in vista which is like an hour drive from were I live the metal scene down there is huge mostly thrash bands. Some do it for fun & others are in it for the long run. I only managed to go to one gig it was one of my cousins friends band and it was intense best time of my life.

Sadly enough, I can't stand some of the bands they play with and those 3 are the worst of the worst in my opinion.
I'd rather see them play with Disfiguring the Goddess and I Declare War personally.

Not big on Dr. Acula but I love Chelsea Grin and Attila. I love the OLD IDW. The new front man is good but not Johnathan.

DTG is amazing but I don't know of them playing any live shows since Big Chocolate was doing everything on his through his MAC I believe. Last I heard he got some actual band members but I haven't heard anything since. I know they have another album releasing soon.

^Well i guess i take back what i said lol, i usually don't like some bands that are mentioned here to the point were i question why they like that band. But its always nice hear other peoples taste in music.

What about when a band gets famous, and you get those people who are like, "I liked them before they were cool!"?

If I recall right, Beneath the Sky is from that area as well aren't they?
