Liu Kang tweets

At the end of the day just because YOU think liu kang is dull, that doesnt take away the whats hes done to in the series and what other people think of him. Its all subjective. The guys at nrs must hold him to some regard if he keeps defying death to come back both in this timeline and the last. But hey everyone is different and has different tastes

That you are. No one is denying that.

However(and this is to EVERYONE thats hating), Hating(which is a strong word and one that should not be expressed towards fiction, IMO) on Liu Kang out of all the MK characters is about the same as hating on the Sun in the sky; useless. Why? because its not going ANYWHERE. Also like the Sun in our universe, Liu is huge in the MK fanbase, and is/was of vital importance in the MK storyline(s). He's not the biggest star in the fanbase, but, as evident, he's something from our viewpoint that stands out above most others for varying reasons.

Could He change to your liking? Who knows and cares but you...

Fact remains though, He's not going anywhere, he will always have a huge fanbase, I reckon he'll be on every MK game from here on out, like Scorpion and Subz, unless its a spinoff of a different character or something.

And the people who don't like him, like yourself and others, just needs to accept and come to grips that he is what he is, and he's here to stay, so all I can say is, move on.

Hating him AND constantly making that known every chance you get, serves no purpose but to possibly ruffles the feathers of people like 'Badass liu kang, or 'aldo', or whoever else here that are Liu die-hards.

Dont keep asking "UGH, why is this guy coming back again?!?! He should stay dead!!" It's a Waste of time. It's a waste of time for one, because No one stays dead in MK...least of all someone as popular as Kang.

If you hate the character, than coming into a thread devoted to him/her SHOULD be a waste of your time, unless you're just here to troll or express your(IMO, unwarranted hatred) of the character, in which case, again, you ought not waste your time.

Liu Kang is an OG...and its seems like the OGs are here to stay. Dull or no, like em or not.

I like Liu myself, he's not my #1 MKguy(Scorpion is, because I like legit badasses), but he is my #2, because im still a sucker for the hero, lol
 
No matter how people dislike him, a fact is that he was the most prominent hero of the story.

If saving Earthrealm sounds dumb, well, that's the main plot of the story, since all protagonists are defenders of Earthrealm.

And among them, he was the top one, no matter the reason, he was.

Within the lore, MK champions had 50 years between each MK Tournament to train.

This guy won 3 MK trounaments probably within a year and another one, against an Elder God, a few years later.

That's not for everybody.
 
Liu Kang is one of my least favorite characters in MK. However, I understand his role in the MK lore. Which is the Shoalin Monk hero who with his buddy Kung Lao along with Johnny Cage, Sonya, and Jax who risk their lives to protect Earthrealm from the forces of evil.

I was quite happy when Liu Kang wasn't in Deadly Alliance since it took Mortal Kombat in a different direction and he wasn't the main focal point of the MK story. Hopefully the NRS team give Liu Kang somewhat of an interesting role in MKX be it a rogue, anti-hero, or vengeful Fire God because I don't see him being the main hero what with Cassie, Takeda, Kung Jin, and Jacqui taking the role of Earthrealm heroes for MKX and future MK games.
 
Liu Kang is the Super Mario of the MK universe. He appears, he beats the boss, he saves the day, he leaves. Killing him is the most interesting thing that's happened to him.

No one is salty like you said you are entitled to your opinion same way im entitled to mine. You think Liu is dull I think Mileena is one sided. The only difference is that idc if shes in the game because I know there are people who are big fans of her.... and im am happy for them because they get to use their main.....

and just to add a side note Mileena is not that creative she is only in the game because of hardware limitations and since they wanted her to be different they just decided to give her traits of an actual creative character (Baraka) Mileena is just a fusion of two different characters... not all that creative

No offense, but... says the guy who's salty because there are different opinions about Liu Kang and Mileena. What gives? You have Mileena, others have Liu Kang. Everyone has MK.
 
Fun facts about Liu Kang: He was the FIRST Bruce Lee clone in a fighting game.
The reason why Liu Kang sounds like a turkey is because it's about of his fighting style to scream like that.
Liu Kang saved the world 2 in this timeline, and 4 times in the last timeline. Thus proving he's the strongest human during those times.

That dude is a legend, lol. How could you not include him? I'm sure there was a shit ton a backlash when he wasn't in MK:DA. Not as bad as Scorpion being in MK3 though but still.

I personally am not a fan of Kang in his current state (being the hero and all) but someone has to be the hero and honestly, I'm glad it's Kang and not Cage.

I like Cage more than Kang, but could you imagine the ego trip Cage would get if he was legit the strongest human alive?
