liu kang role?

Liu Kang's final fate after the fight against Raiden wasn't exactly clear.

He could have fainted. If he died, his soul went to the Netherrealm, because all souls of the dead warriors went to Quan Chi/Shinnok.

I don't think he is the big bad. With the current information, nothing takes out of my head that Shinnok is the guy to be beaten.

And going further, with Outworld's throne, the Amulet and Kamidogus in the story, I think more than in the very beginning that Onaga could easily fit this surprise returning character role.

If Liu Kang died and his soul was given to Shinnok/Quan Chi...

I think a logical role for him is to be the ultimate revenant. A fighter much stronger than Sindel.

Netherrealm's strongest abomination against his own friends, and against Raiden.

Liu is my second fav char, because ive always been a sucker for the heroes. But even Ill admit that Liu as a char is not as interesting as the others. HOWEVER, unlike some people, I dont hate the character for that, because the characters cant make themselves interesting, they have writers and developers for that, so with that said... The hate should go towards certain people at NRS/Midway, for not giving their former main hero some char development over the years...


Liu is the strongest clone, ill give him that. But Marshal Law is Bruce Lee. PERIOD.
 
From what Ed Boon was saying about the final boss a few interviews ago, I doubt it's Liu Kang.

I don't think he'll return as a playable character. Maybe a NPC as a revenant for Quan Chi.

At least that's what I'm hoping for, Liu Kang dying in MK9 story was a pretty big event and changes the timeline quite a bit, and I hope NRS don't try reverse this.

Maybe as DLC if he gets demanded enough?

But their reasoning for hating the character is stupid to me. Scorpion up until now has been doing the same thing every game. Revenge. Thats not interesting after the 3rd time you hear about it. When they tried to kill liu off. They got pretty noticeable backlash. Im not saying you cant make a game without him, but at least progress the character enough before you try and retire him. They might finally do that this game im hoping
