so i wonder what his role in the game is he going to be the nantihero then towards the end he try to redems himself and help mentor the future fighters like how raiden help mentor him

That looks like Kung Jin to me.

Kung Jin's model in the tower is extending his bow to the right.

I think he's going to be the boss.

i dont think so i think he going to be playable as the antihero that lost respect to raiden after what he did in mk9 but understand why he did it and whenever raiden get killed by whoever the big bad liu kang will become the new mentor of the next gentaion fighters like raiden was to him
 
Takeda and Liu Kang already share the same hair anyway (why NRS!!!).

We've seen Takeda primary and alternate costumes already and none of them fit the picture.

I agree but we also know Kitana has 3 costumes, so Takeda may have a third.

I still think that guy is Liu though.

At the risk of sounding completely racist. That guy on the bottom doesn't look dark enough to be Jax. He also doesnt look as buff either.

Even if Takeda has a third costume (which I sincerely hope he does because I am not feeling neither of his first two), the pose of the pic is VERY Liu Kang-ish and his face looks very mature. This is a great finding.

He has a badge and metal arms it's a safe bet.

However take into account these models have some weird coloration.

He looks black to me though, he seems to be darker than Kung Jin, and Kung Jin is not that white.
 
The OP didn't ask "Is this Liu Kang on this screenshot?". He asked "What is Liu Kang's role in MKX?".

If Liu Kang is indeed in MKX, I wouldn't mind seeing him being resurrected into god status. I don't think that's the case though. I'm sure Raiden would know if Liu Kang had become a god of sorts.

So if that happens, it would most likely happen towards the end of the Story Mode. Maybe Liu Kang is the Blood Demon.
 
I think Liu Kang has a legit excuse to be pissed at Raiden. Yes, Raiden did prevent Armageddon and his plan to kill Shao Kahn worked, but at a very high price. Liu lost his best friend because Raiden allowed Kung Lao to take a role of being "the one" to defeat Shao Kahn; because of Raiden who - for some reason - took Liu Kang with him to speak with the Elder Gods, he couldn't be there to protect his friends and, especially, Kitana, his love interest; and he also had to watch Raiden to plead mercy to Quan Chi trading Earthrealm warriors' souls to form an alliance with the devil... This is more than enough reason to see Liu Kang be somehow corrupted and seek for vengeance. The power corrupting him is a nice plot-twist and I loved his Fire God look. Neither Shinnok, Kotal or Mileena are the big bad probably...

Yeah, you could forget all of that... dude killed him, that's reason enough to be pissed at him.
