I'm not talking about Shao here. Kid NOVA seems convinced that Kotal and Shinnok are related because of the leak, which is not confirmed and he also probably misinterpreted it. (I assume he believes they are blood related, which is a sketchy theory at best).

I just think he's some Aztec Sun God... that pre match banter with Raiden made me believe it even more.

Kahn isn't a family's last name. You can accept Kotal Khan isn't related to Shao Kahn now.

The leak states that Kotal is NOT related to Shao Kahn & Ed Boon confirmed that so lets end this shao khan relation once and for all. Lets discuss what the leak revealed that was Kotal is somehow related to Shinnok. Shinnok reminds Kid NOVA of an imperial Chinese aristocrat. Kotal reminds Kid NOVA of an aztec warrior.

Like how Raiden is the protector of Earthrealm, I'm thinking Kotal is the protector Outworld. I'm guessing he doesn't concern himself with mortal affairs like Raiden does, but he doesn't want his realm overrun by the Netherrealm.

If kotal is a god why the ppl from outworld or kotal need use "khan" word? him have superior range than an emperor or any king.
 
kulkulkan was the mayan snake god. pronounced "cool-cool-kahn". maybe he's the MK representation of this ancient diety, hence the green flesh. he also appears to be a sun god by his statements to raiden. I cant wait to see how things work out between these two\
