Is Mortal Kombat 2011 dead ?!

sure the game is missing chameleon, Robo Smoke, and Motaro

but people are making it seem like this game is incomplete and not good enough. And they never use the characters I just mentioned either. They really dont give a good reason why there should be a UMK9. If NRS decided not to have more DLC, then people would be complaining even more that this game is incomplete.

the game was fine and complete enough back on April 19th. And calling a 5 month old game Dead, is just stupid.

Then don't play the game. No need to flood the forums with your *****in'.

I don't think a lack of DLC will kill of the game, and as long as the DLC sells well, they'll probably keep making it anyway.

First of: I'm not flooding. I'm exposing my opinion in a way that can't possibly offend anybody, or at least isn't meant to. No need to flood this tread with your tears, son. I have my right to don't like a game, which I NEVER SAID it was the case here. I like MK9, but I just think it WILL die pretty fast without DLC, as this game is nowhere near to perfection.

Bugs, horrible online mode and Freddy. Fix that and the game will be fine for me. Is this such an offending flood message? Sorry, I don't get it.

A GOOD game lives without DLC. And a GOOD game nowadays mean a GOOD online mode, bug-free engine and a cool roster. We can have all of that, but we haven't got it so far.

"Will they make more DLC" and "IS MK2011 dead" are different questions:) You ask us, what we think, will they release more DLC, but you, me, Shin Li, Sky Valley, Eff One and others know the same: 50% they will release 50% that they will not:) Until we have any annaunces we can only suppose, and this question is not new.
Is MK9 dead? This is a more private question. If you still play it, it's alive:)

Will they realese more DLC? I dont know but I hope so.
Is MK9 dead? NO, hell no.

There is no relation between these 2 questions.

you no what, not everybody is going to happy. This is my favorite Mk game by far. Story, game mechanics, graphics. All top notch. Plus every character has there own moveset and identity now. How can you not be happy with this game.
I know boon said for now that there will be no more DLC. But he did mention another Shokan character the team has been thinking about and I know Robo Smoke has been favored for DLC for a while now. So I have a feelin there is going to be more DLC down the road.

Cyber Smoke is a must have, the game is incomplete without him.

I love the gameplay and characters, but still can't play online, they have made improvements to their online set up (netcode whatever), but I do feel cheated that I am unable to experience the fight online like I can with every other fighter (8mb bb, so it's should be able to cope).

Cyber Smoke will only work without his ripoffs. No harpoon, and no sektor teleport. he will need a revised moveset before he comes back around.

That's really why I want to see him. It'd really be interesting to see how they flesh Cyber Smoke out and how original his moveset is. His Nekropolis bio and his arcade ending would probably be an interesting thing to see as well.

That's like saying that Human Smoke needs to have Scorpion's teleport punch and harpoon, and yet, in this game, he has a distinct teleport punch and no harpoon. Cyborg Smoke does not require a harpoon and teleport uppercut; he can easily be a skin.

the game has sold 3 million copies making it the number 1 in the series and the year. thats not even including dlc purchases. the game is far from dead. i hard a hard time adjusting to 2D fighters, but it is growing on me. WB said they already made their money back from the midway buyout. so no its not dead at all, the rooms are always full at night time. its not for everyone, but MK is here to stay. all this robo-this and that,, hornbuckle tremor, khameleon, are all crap characters and dont belong in a reboot. kind of ridiculous

its more alive on PS3 than 360. fighters are just better with the dualshock than that terrible 360 dpad controller. if your playing on 360, theres a smaller community there.

I disagree. There is no reason to have cyber smoke in the initial roster considering Smoke was never turned into a cyborg in this new storyline. That's why we have Cyber Sub-Zero.

If a game is "dead" because no more DLC comes out, then I really gotta question if the game was ever actually good in the first place, lol.
This is true. Saying MK9 is dead because of no more DLC is saying MK9 isn't a good game after all.
