I feel that since all these streams of high caliber play

i see alot more Kung lao's, reptile's, and Kano's

im running into them more and more

Reptile has been my main since day one, and it is somewhat bothersome when you begin to see your main used by others often.

There's a small sense of jealousy almost... kind of similar to that feeling you got when you were a kid playing Hide N Seek and some fat kid took your favorite hiding spot.
 
its probably the "bandwagon effect". they see high caliber players playin these characters so they pick them cuz they hope to achieve the same result. but i'm not sayin that about players who main these chars. all the characters in this game are great.
 
After I show off my Caged Rage, everyone will be a Johnny Player. No one is unique anymore. Just tier-hopping bandwaggoners.

last time i remember he lost to a reptile dont remember him using kano, he might have used lao, y do people keep giving credit to him for every thing.

credit for kano's popularity goes to circus. reptile popularity goes to the guy that beat brady yesterday. i heard brady droped the ball tho and got smashed pretty quickly. in the finals by a fantastic reptile player.


IsItTheShoes told me it was chris g that beat brady.

I'm keeping to my Smoke no matter what. Easy to play, damn hard to master. And I feel I have mastered him. I'd welcome tons of Smoke players online. Lately I've been on a Mileena binge, but if someone picks Smoke first I'll pick him too and rip 'em to shreds.

Feels good to be a Pro Smoke. XD
 
I pick my character randomly. I have mains, yes, but I spend a lot of time practicing with everyone.
I don't like seeing the same characters over and over again. Online you only see Scorpions, Ermacs, Noobs and Smokes and in tournaments you only see Cyraxs, Kung Laos and Reptiles.
It gets boring quickly.
 
nobody is going to bandwagon on Sheeva so I'm good. Still want them to nerf Kano's Up Ball so less noobs play him and just spam.
 
I main Kabal, and I don't face many Kabals, so I'm good too
It's good to see there are a few Sheeva players in these boards, I haven't seen a Baraka mainer, though.

I've actually seen plenty of Kabal players, but all of them sucked. They were only using the dash and the low throw thingy, and comboing off the dash (though they almost never get a chance to do that with me). I can block and punish that shit all day long.

That sucks. From my experience I barely see Kabal's and I have faced only one good one, however, the guy relied too much on the block infinite
 
I've been rocking Sub-Zero with his classic costume since day 1 and have no intention of changing that lol. I've swapped in and out a couple secondary characters that I enjoy playing as like Ermac, Kano, Reptile, Liu Kang, and whomever else seems like they'll be fun but it's mostly because they seem like they'll be cool to play as. If people are introduced to characters via tournament streams and they like what they see think it'll be fun then great! If it's just because they look strong and easy then I think it's kind of a waste of time. Playing to win is great, but if you're not enjoying your time then it seems a bit hollow to me.
 
i have seen lately also many kano players in online..... and less scorpion and smoke.
How many have you seen Quan chi on online and how good he was ?
 
i... never had a main.
i just played who was fun.
i guess i could say my mains are Sub-Zero, Reptile, Johnney Cage, and Shang Tsung.
i have no idea what tier lists there are for this game other than kung loa and shang tsung are near the top.
but yea seeing everyone play Ermac, Noob, Scorpion, Smoke, can get quite boring. it kinda loses what made mortal kombat.

I've seen one decent Quan Chi player, and two horrible ones. I haven't seen a good player use him yet and take advantage of rune traps.

I have only seen one player who picked Quan Chi more than once......me, and he was pretty decent
