Wonder Woman's face is god awful. Harley's isn't that bad, but jesus christ fire the prick that designs the female faces. Unmasked Kitana still gives me nightmares

I was just talking with my roommate about that.
Like, it looks ugly but you can't really tell why. It just seems, off
Because the lower portion of her face looks rough and chiseled as hell, like a man's face. She got that Wendy Williams going on:

Pretty sure that's just one of her worse pics though since she's also making an ugly ass face, either way you can tell they spent more time adding extra meat to her ass and thighs than making sure her face was on point

This is what happens when you take negative rep away. Niqqas start posting pictures of Wendy Williams all willy nilly

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees something "off" about her face. Even just looking at her face on the box cover art she reminds me of some bad deviantart fetish 3D models of her that I've seen.

I actually think Netherrealms face quality has gone way down ever since they stopped using real people's faces for them. I wish they could go back to that. Still, I guess their faces are better than in previous 3D outings. Those where even worse in my opinion especially before they started using Unreal Engine.

"Yeah uhhh baby before we start, put this over ya head and whatever you do, DON'T take that shit off"

^ Yung lol

OT: @smoke.tetsu- Yeah, I think the last game where the female characters didn't have horse faces was MK4

Since Deadly Alliance, all the girls have pretty much had the same problem: their bodies look young, but their faces don't (dem jawlines), which gives them that signature tranny look that we've been accustomed to over the years

Deadly Alliance to Armageddon didn't have very impressive character models, male or female. It's just the females are more noticeable to the target audience.

Well Lex Luthor, Bane, Joker, and that hype trailer featuring Green Lantern and several alternate costumes

Yeah, that (MK4) happens to be the last game that I know of where they based the faces off of real people. So Kerri Hoskins was still Sonya for example. Although like others have said.. that applies to male faces too not just females. Although I would say the female faces can be more problematic. But for example in MK9 even male faces such as Liu Kang's face look terrible.

Perhaps the MK team felt burned by all the rights issues they had with former MK "actors" (like being sued for royalties). Even in MK4 they where starting to transition away from that it seemed with some of the characters being based on programmers\artists rather than actors\martial artists.

But still I'd like to see them return to the more realistic totally based of a real person style at least for MK10. Take a page from a company like CD Project Red who is doing that for Cyberpunk 2077.

I remember John Tobias (after leaving midway and working on his own 3D fighting game) asserting that they didn't need actors any more because he thought they could achieve the graphical fidelity they used to get via digitizing from their real time 3D models. That is something I disagree with even today. The best human models in games are ones where they at least used real people as references in my opinion.
