I thought Boon said that the DLC's on disc were gonna be free?

I agree and it's nice to see that if NRS did do it free, some people who did pay for the Tournament Edition would not be mad. I will say though, that you did pay for them. Even though that if you were to buy them separately the price would be highier, nothing in this world is ever free. And even though the price of the stick works out to $90. They still made more money off a consumer on a Tournament edition then standard. Good deal = Yes, Free = No.

so.. so many people pre-ordered the game's collector's or tournament editions just for those skins or fatalities even if it was like 99.9% sure we'd be getting all that at some point at DLC later on.. some of them even got more copies to get more skin codes.. and now you guys ***** about the fact you have to give five bucks for this pack? don't freaking get it if you don't want to, no one forces you to. and don't use the 'it's not about the money, it's that I don't like being lied to' because if you were smart buyers, you'd realize before that ALL those things would be available at some point in a humiliating price compared to what you had to pay for the special editions of the game, plus, you'd know what marketing is all about and how companies talk about this or that when it comes to paying for it.

Agree. Boon may be developer / co creator but I don't think he has supreme control over pricing and release. Execs at wb, NRS, Sony and Microsoft have more power and say.
I mean it's not like Ed boon has the same pull as George Lucas or spieldberg. Those guys can pull and get what they want. They want it for $5. It'll b $5 lol

Agree. If we support dev team were more likely to get more goodies from them down the line via dlc
and also help give them better support for the franchise, allowing them to make the case for many MK games In the future.
And dare I say it, maybe the franchise is resurrected and we can get a better movie this time unlike the crap fest mk2 was in theaters.

These 2 first DLC what are coming (Klassic Costumes and Skarlet) are the termometer, where NRS will test if the so called "true MK fans" are giving support or not for DLC content idea .... they already have a personal estimative for the amount of DLC they hope to be sold, so, if stats numbers don't reach that, you can be sure that they will : or delay a lot the next DLCs in order to see if fans just beg for it, or, just cancel any future DLC ..... so, people who are complaining about Klassic costume to be crap and having to pay for them, and, about Skarlet be a "red whore" who add nothing to MK, better to think twice, because, somehow, they will contribute for negative results in DLC and prejudice an entire community ..... but, people are free to act and do whatever they want, and we gotta to respect. So, just an analysis here.

Where does my loyalty to the series come into this discussion? I've been a fan since I was 6-7 playin' MK2 with my cousin and if buying most of the games and paying $100 on the kollectors edition doesn't make me a fan, then I guess I'm not. I'm not specifically pissed at Boon or NRS, I'm just sick of paying extra for what I ALREADY PAID FOR! It doesn't matter which company does this, you just shouldn't have to pay for what's already on the disc! Yeah it's five dollars, but it's the principle (and to be fair, $5 can add up quickly if you don't watch what you're spending). Now, when the 2nd costume pack comes along, I might put up the $5 depending on which characters are involved and that the designers are working "overtime" (if you will) on these. OVERTIME being the key word in that last sentence.

Remember, they gave us alternate costumes on the game.
I think the last fighting game to give "free" alts was Tekken 6!

Uhh if you bought Kollector's you paid 100 for the game (60) and 40 for the extra skins and an art book and book ends.

You only get Ermac's retro in the Kollector's Edition. The others were pre-order bonuses.
If they said it was going to be free and now are charging then that's a touch mean and can't be nicely explained away, however it's not exactly essential, so nobody forces anyone to pay out.
However, if the money does actually go back into helping to fund further content dlc then actually I'm quite happy to pay, even if it was on the disc originally.
I'd rather pay a bit here and there and get more dlc than get less for free.

agreed with all posted above that a paid item is a lot better than a free item. Im sure they are still working hard to make the characters as well rounded as possible (in mk world), and i think they did a good job with the skarlett char. good job boon, hopefully you keep that xbox exclusive out too, we dont want any more random character in the mk universe. although i would like to see superman do his awesome super punch as a x-ray and totally break every bone in the skull
